Help! Did I mess up induction???

I started induction on 7/12 and was very strict (very few carbs from acceptable foods only...less then 4 a day, no caffeine, no drinks other then water and lots of water, etc.)

I had already lost weight when on Day 5 I had to eat out for lunch and the thing that I'd think have the least carbs was chicken nuggets (the choices were pizza, sandwich, or chicken nuggets). It was the only food I was going to have access to from 7am-5pm! I didn't have an alternative, and ate 8 chicken nuggets for lunch.

So today is Day 7. I have remained very strict since the chicken nugget incident. I still have the weird breath.

Do you think it's possible that the chicken nuggets DIDN'T put me out of ketosis???

Who knows. I would say that the chicken nuggets were your worst choice of the three (just sayin!) You could have eaten the "stuffing" of the sandwich (which I do at meetings where I have no other option) or simply eat the topping from the pizza. Hey...water under the bridge, but keep that in mind for next time!

do you use the ketone sticks...they are the best indicator of ketosis..u can pick them up @walmart or walgreens

I agree w the others that pizza top or sandwich guts are not-bad choices when everything is bad.

But I don't think you blew it - at worst you kicked yourself out of ketosis temporarily, and even then it would have been short lived. One thing I do if I have a bit of something higher carb is be sure to take in extra fat and also dramatically reduce quantities. So instead of 8 nuggets you'd have been better with 7, 6, etc.

Especially early on, I really think going EVERYWHERE with on-plan snacks is a real help - I never knew when i'd get hungry but I often knew I'd have a hard time finding low-carb options unless I carried them with me. I carried around nuts (esp macadamia & brazil which are higher in fat) and I would say that some of those would have been a better choice than breaded chicken nuggets even if they are not officially "induction" they are a shelf-stable, easily portable, relatively low-carb emergency option.
