True, and fair enough! I think i've learned over the years though, if something doesn't work it's your own fault... hence why i was asking about what i was eating! Anyway.. all is well and at the end of the day we're all here for the same reason :)

Personally, I don't do "Atkins" either but I do a very restricted low carb and the closest thing to it is Atkins, which is why I hang out here on this board (which is much more active than the other low carb boards on 3FC). I am careful to say that what I do isn't "Atkins" however.
I eat some foods that aren't on the "induction" list and I make small detours here and there but generally try to keep my carbs around 30g when I'm counting them (which is not right now). I do test for ketosis from time to time so I know I have low enough carb levels (well, to the extent you can rely on the ketostix). I feel comfortable participating in the discussions because I don't misrepresent what I do & because I see lots of people who eat like me but call it "Atkins" so I think there isn't a black and white line. You'll see lots of comments from lots of people in the "Atkins" forum who are modifying the program in some way among even those who say they're doing Atkins. And the newer versions of the book, which is "Atkins" & allows for the frankenfoods made by the Atkins company is also hotly debated here. But technically it's still "Atkins" even if it's a lot more carbs than what I eat. The truth is there is no absolute truth, just a lot of us seeking wisdom in a forest. For me, everyone is helping shed light for everyone else & debate & discussion are healthy. Just my two cents - hope I didn't offend any of the Serious Atkins folks... |
well said sarah :)
