Lost 7lbs in a week but don't see a difference!

Hi guys!

I am new to this area of 3FC, calorie counting was pretty much slow as anything and I did Atkins a while ago. I find my body responds better to a high(ish) fat low carb plan so I thought I would try Akins again, as I still have my old book.

Anyways, I've lost 7lbs in a week which is obviously, mostly water, and it's great but I don't feel any difference in my clothes etc. I thought since it's a lot quite fast I would :dizzy: do you think I will start feeling a difference soon??

Do you think I should up my exercise routine?

Also I am planning to stick pretty strictly to induction foods until I am within 5lbs of my goal, from what I've read this is OK, is that right??

Sorry about all these questions and rambles :^:

I know personally, I've lost around 25 pounds and I still can't tell a big difference, so it may take a few more pounds before your clothes start feeling loose.

What is your exercise routine right now?

Congrats on the 7 lbs!!! :)

I would guess that with toning exercises you would see the difference better. I had time in February to exercise more and really saw the difference. I gained a bit back, and am now the same weight, but am definitely a bit flabbier as I have backed off on exercise a bit. The clothes don't fit the same as they did then.

I lost 6lb the first week and did not notice a difference either. I noticed around 10-12 lbs.

Thanks for the input :)

I currently do jogging twice a week and an dance DVD twice a week so that's about a 45 minute session each time. I also walk everywhere as I am a student and don't have a car. I may increase jogging and incorporate toning exercises and do some strength training at home.

You should also take your measurements. I weigh weekly but don't measure weekly. When they scale doesn't budge much, I measure. It is nice to see the reduction. Just because you don't lose on the scale doesn't mean you are not losing inches.

I forgot about measuring as I've lost my tape, silly me! Will have to get a new one thanks for reminding me :) as for now I'll go with how my clothes feel as they're starting to feel baggier around the waist woop!

Just out of interest how do you get on with weighing weekly? I weigh daily :S

I used to weigh daily at first too. Lately I have been seeing fluctuations and it just aggrivages me. I may weigh once mid week, but the only weight I record is the weekly rate. You can drive yourself crazy weighing daily. Since I am seeing a difference in my clothes, I am much more content. I also know the WOE will work for me, but not as fast as others so I am trying to be patient and focus on the big picture.

I lost 5 pounds (this week so far) since switching from calorie counting to Atkins. You can't tell I lost any weight. I always joke that I must have lost 5 pounds of boobs, cause its not showing anywhere else. I can't wait until it shows in my face.
