Hi again

Hey...again...yeah, this my 3rd attempt at Atkins. I tried it a couple of times in the past, but fell off even though I was losing weight. I also did LA Weightloss and was very successful for about three months. Unfortunately I'm back to my original weight from three or four years ago.

Anyway, my wife joined Weight Watchers, so I figure this would be a good time to try again. I'm motivated right now and want to drop 40-50lbs.

My real name is Jason and I'm from Newfoundland. I am serving with the Canadian military and have been for over 13 years. My top weight was 273lbs 4 years ago. I was 270lbs three days ago (after getting down to 235lbs) and am now down to 263lbs (only my 3rd day at it again)...my goal is to reach 225lbs.

I am married with 2 kids...15 yr old daughter (from first wife) and 5 yr old son (from 2nd wife). I am currently 37 yrs old.

I posted this already in the "low carbs" forums, but figured since most of my time will be in here, I may as well repost it. This means I'll be in here picking your brains and looking for help over hurdles! I failed my last few attempts at reaching my goal and would love nothing more than making it this time...

It's nice to be back...

:) Hi, Jason, welcome! I'm so glad you are here! Congratulations on beginning what I personally think is the best and easiest way of dieting there is!

I know you will reach your goals this time, and on this program, once you get past the first 2 or 3 weeks, the hunger-reducing benefits of low-carbing will kick in and you will find it extremely easy to stay on the diet. I'm in my 3rd week and I literally usually have to force myself to eat because I'm just not hungry. Well, shoot, you probably know that from having tried the diet before.

That's so cool you are in the Canadian Armed Forces! I used to be an Army Officer, and was stationed in the MFO as my first assignment. So I served with several Canadian Officers and thought the world of them. :)

Best of luck to you on your journey to the healthiest and happiest you!

Welcome, Jason! Good luck getting back to Atkins. I am new to this, so I have a lot to learn about it. I have some experience from watching people I know who have done this and been successful, but for me, I have to give it a try.

Congratulations on serving your country!

lol...I've been skimming forums. I have been commenting on threads. So far I'm doing great. In 9 days I have lost 13lbs...crazy, I know! I'm waiting for it to slow down. I only had craving twice since starting and was able to overcome them quite easily. The two things I have done wrong were eating too much cheese and drinking alcohol. I cut back on my cheese and as for the alcohol it is limited. On a normal Friday night I would drink around 12 to 16 beer (Canadian beer...lol) with friends. But last Saturday I had 2 drinks of Bacardi and diet Coke. Last night I had 3 drinks of the same...although slightly stronger.

There, that's the long way of saying I'm doing great and progressing quite well. Thanks for being concerned...lol...

I'm not a big alcohol drinker but isn't there a low-carb beer available?.....might be something to look into Jason :)

Yeah, there are 2 or 3 brands I have tried in the past. I am going to stick to Bacardi until I reach my goal...by then BBQ season will be hear and a cold beer will be that much tastier!
