doing it again

Hi folks!
I have started Atkins for my 4th time. I began last monday, so today is my official second week of induction. I am down 10 lbs, and am feeling darn good. My challenge is eating enough food, and getting my water in, so I'm working on that. I am reminding myself that easy fast food isn't worth screwing up the work I'm putting in.
SO I just thought I'd say HI!
Have a greatt day
TQ

Hello TQ,

This is my second week of induction as well. I only lost 3 lbs. the first week. So, I am wondering if I am doing something wrong. I thought I would have lost more. However, I will take the loss. Good luck to you.

The general rule of Induction is that you should lose 10% of your excess weight in the 2 week period. If you have a lot of weight to lose, Dr. Atkins said you can safely do Induction longer.

Hi Dionne,
3 lbs is nothing to shake a stick at! Great job! I have way more to lose than you so that helps. There is also the concept that what you lose in the first 2 weeks is 10% of what your total weight loss can be....but I'm not sure about that if I end up losing 16lbs...lol
The thing I did differently this time (because it was available) was use the menus from the atkins.com website. I will continue to do that this week....good luck to you too!
TQ

Thanks Jerseygirl. It's been a while since I read the book, so that 10% thing was fuzzy.

So if you don't lost the 10% in those 1st 2 weeks does it mean that something was done wrong? or that the person may be one of those slow losers? or something else?

I think 1 very important issue needs to be considered when it comes to the 10% statement. Someone who has say 100 lbs to lose is going to lose more quickly in the beginning than someone who may only have 20 lbs to lose. This doesn't mean you are doing something wrong, its simply the way things work.
Remember, Dr. Atkins himself said it is safe to stay on Induction longer than 2 weeks provided you are not bored with your food choices.
