Default Back on Track after Turkey Day Massacre

For all of you that stayed POP, CONGRATULATIONS!!! For the rest of you Chickies who signed up for TO this weekend, I hope you had some great success!!

I jumped on the scale at home on Sat. Morning (because I was avoiding the COD due to my Turkey Day indescretions) I nearly jumped off!!! I was up 5 lbs!!! Now I know that a lot of that had to be water but come on. I decided to do Take off to get me back on track. I am happy to say that I am back down to my ticker and have recommitted myself to the program. So many of you have written about TO and I thought it was going to be some severe punishment but it really wasn't that bad. I did a search on this forum and found the "Best way to do a 2 day TO" and just followed that. I used LUNA bars and the Knudsen's Jucice and It was easy because everything was so stuctured and I did'nt have to think about what to eat. I am so close to my goal, I can taste it. I think I am going to try the 21 day boost. Has anyone else tried this? What kind of success did you have?

21 day boost

The 21 day boost is the alternating of the Take Off, the use of slim downs and the regular program.
Day 1 and 2- Take Off
Day 3 and 4 Regular Plan
Day 5-9- Replace Slim Down with 1 P, 1 S
Day 10-11- Regular Plan
Day 12-17 Replace Slim DOwn with 1 P, 1 S
Day 18,19- Regular Plan
Day 20, 21- Take Off

What is slim down? I don't think I have seen that in my plan. Are you saying to have a slim down in place of 1 protien and 1 starch, or is slim down something you use in your daily diet?

Slim Down is an LA Weight Loss meal replacement product that comes in several flavors (chocolate, strawberry and vanilla) and counts as a Protein and Starch. You can have one a day. Some folks use a Slim Fast High Protein drink instead. I like the LA Slims frozen and then mix some raspberries or strawberries in it to make a really good shake.

Holly - great job on the TO. I've not successfully done the 21 day boost thingie. I like food too much!

Hey Jonie, Its great to see you back! I did the TO thing Sat and Sun. so I figured if I got through that, a couple of days of trading in 1P and 1S for a Slim Fast Shake would be a feast!!!

TO really wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be. I picked up some Slim Fast high protien shakes to use in place of the LA Slimdowns since I don't use the LA products. I am planning on using them at lunch when I usually just scarf down something quick at my desk anyway! I figure if I do the 21 day boost, I might just hit my goal weight in 21 days which is awefully temping to me!

Hitting my goal by Christmas is going to mean me giving up alcohol completely during the rest of my weight loss. I just can't seem to stay away from my "trigger" foods if I have any alcohol to drink. At the holiday parties, I going to be the one in the slinky cocktail dress enjoying my sparkling water with a twist of lime!!! But its going to be a size 6 slinky cocktail dress!!!

Maybe it was because I was eating enough....but I didn't have too much success with the 21 day boost..Ii may have to try it again. How many days until Christmas? Ooh size 6..I'm so jealous. LOL.

Oh..I forgot to mention...my COD brought to my attention that Slimdowns ( I assume Slimfast very similar) have high sodium..so you may see a bit of water retention. Just a heads up. So, don't use them the same days you use Lean Cuisine or other high sodium foods.

Buffystar, when you say you didn't have "much" success, when did you last do the 21 day boost and how much did you lose. Were you POP, exercising, ect? Thanks for the tip on the sodium too.

I was stuck at a plateau, but I think the real issue was that I wasn't eating enough ( I should have been on red, I was on gold). I was exercising 5 + hours a week, and staying POP. IT sucked. Didn't have much success. I'm attributing it to not eating enough. Am doing 21 boost again tomorrow..just in time for Chirstmas break Also, did you get your "5" pounds off immediately after take-off? I may do take-off this week again because I blew it with Mexican wedding cakes. Damn me

I got my 5 lbs immediately after I completed the 2 day Take Off and that is when I decided to do the 21 Day boost. I have continued to lose at a regular rate and I just updated my ticker today! Down another lb!!! If you do the 21 day boost the first two days are a TO. Good luck and don't be so hard on yourself. This is an extreamly challanging time of year to maintain let alone lose weight. Just remember, just because you have one bite of mexican wedding cake doesn't mean you have to finish the whole piece (or cake!!!) I mindlessly popped a piece of candy in my mouth yesterday and then thought, why the heck did I just do that? I ended up spitting the candy out! One bite does not hurt you. Its the other 10 that follow.

What about a whole box? Seriously. But I think that you're absolutely right. With ls finals and with the whole wedding thing, it is going to be a challenge. But coincidentally I have 21 days til Christmas break..what a way to kick it off! Keep chuggin, Holly Thanks for the encouragement.

P.S. Congrats on your 10 % advancement toward goal. (I'm such a dork, but I really get a kick out of percentages to goal)

My scale had showed 4 on Saturday after T-DAY, when I got to COD, it was 2. I still am up, down,up,down. I've lost the 2 but can't move any more yet. Plus, its been chilly here in Florida and I now have to wear pants rather than shorts for my weigh in, NOT FAIR!!
