Smile Just wanted to share...cautiously optimistic

I haven't had a binge or purge in four and a half days. Judging from the past few months, which is when I started actively keeping track, this is the longest I've gone without.

I know I'm not "cured"--I don't personally think eating disorders ever go away; they're just managed. But I'm still feeling very good about this.

Keep posting here! You may find it may be more helpful than you expect to post here. Although the binge/purge cycle is a much more difficult and complex problem, I found that posting daily on 3FC about a food that I was overeating and getting out of control with was extremely helpful in breaking that cycle. Each day I pledged to 3FC that I wouldn't succumb, and it made it much easier to resist when I was faced with the possibility of overeating the food to resist. Ultimately, the person who it is most important to be accountable to is yourself, but in the beginning stages, sometimes it helps to be accountable to people that are interested in supporting you in your effort to win the battle.

Congratulations!!!
