Default Veggie Burgers

I'd like to try veggie burgers for dinner this weekend. There are so many different brands. I remembers seeing Boca, Morningstar, and several others. Can anyone tell me which you have tried and which you like? Thanks in advance!

It depends on what you like-boca and morningstar have versions that are designed to be similar to real burgers. Gardenburgers don't really try to do that-although maybe they have flavors I don't know about. I prefer the the ones that are like real burgers-especiallyt the boca ones. I find that frying them up in a pan coated in Pam is the best way to cook them rather than nuking them-though that is an option.

I've been on a Gardenburger original kick. It has a blend of grains, veggies and a little cheese. I think I like the texture on these the best.

I also like the Morningstar Farms grilled veggie burgers.

After those two I like the Boca Burger grilled veggie burgers and the vegan burgers. If it's your first shot out, I wouldn't try the vegan ones unless you are used to veggie products. The other ones I mentioned don't try to be meat and have a flavor all their own.

I like to have my veggie burgers on a 4" pita. You can split the pita in half and have two rounds to sandwich it. You won't miss the bun.

It's funny, DH and I actually prefer using pita's instead of hamburger buns now for our veggie and turkey burgers. It lets you taste the burger, not the bread.

My fav is the Morningstar Grillers, but they are tiny and I only get one on my plan - Cassi gets two cause she's smarter than me (actually, cause she's on purple and has a smart corporate center!). Morningstar Grills have their own unique taste, so if you are looking for a big, fat, burger like substitute, you may be disappointed.

Thanks for the replies, ladies! I went ahead and bought the Boca burgers because they were on sale and I had a coupon. I bought pitas to go with them. Thanks for that tip! I'll let you know what I think!

Love love love Morningstar grillers! So tasty and not chicken!!

Does anybody (Cassi??) know how the Morningstar Breakfast sandwiches break down on LAWL? I just ate one--its ok, but definitely not the Egg McMuffin that I love so much.

Martha - I don't really know, but a guess is 2S,1P,1/2D. Not worth it to me. I would rather have the sausage patties in a 4"pita or tortilla with some cheese and it would be 1S,1/2P,1/2D.
