Default Lean Cuisine Pizzas

FYI... I asked the LA Dietician about the new Lean Cuisine Pizzas, and here was their response...

QUESTION:
Can you please tell me if the new Lean Cuisine pizzas fall
under the approved guidelines for the LAWL plan? They make deep dish
and brick oven styles.

ANSWER:
Thank you for submitting your question to our Nutrition Department.

You can incorporate the Brick Oven pizza from Lean Cuisine. However, we
do not recommend the Bar-BQ variety. You can count these meals as 1
Protein and 1 Starch exchange. We do not recommend the Deep Dish pizza
during weight loss. Let us know if you have further questions.

We will forward a copy of this email message to your center so that they
may further assist you with your program.

We wish you continued success with your LA Weight Loss Program.

Sincerely,

The LA Weight Loss Nutrition Department

Cassi--thanks a bunch--good to know. I really like the BBQ--of course!! Haven't seen the deep dish--good thing I guess. I am so glad you keep us informed!

Cassi - should we all send you $1 to offset the cost of LAWL online????

Thanks for the info - I've been avoiding them like the plague, but after I get below my ticker weight I may try one.

I tried the BBQ chicken one and it was ok, but I actually like my homemade one better (see BBQ chicken pitza in recipe thread). I think it's because I use honey bbq sauce and theirs is smoky. But if you haven't tried the garlic chicken one, run out and do it now. It is SOOOOOO good! And I don't even eat frozen meals, but I think I may add this in to the weekly rotation as a treat.

I don't know if this is one of the new ones, but I love the spinach mushroom one. Very good!

Thanks for the info Cassi. I am leary right now to add anything like the frozen meals until I get a bit of a routine established (after all it has only been 5 days) but I plan to be able to use these once in awhile for something different for lunches at work for some variety.

I've never even seen Deep Dish ones up here. Only the Original ones. I have the 3 cheese ones that has the thin crust and find it really yummy! They dont have much varity here in the safeways here in Vancouver. Only a handful of them but lucky for me they are the ones I am allowed

I was thinking about ordering regular Pizza from Papa Johns tonight. In my purple book it says I can have 2- 7 inch pieces as a CC option. Has anyone asked their COD if this is really OK? That seems like a lot but I am really not feeling like cooking. . . .

Holli that is correct - you can have 1 pizza CC up to one times a week. But it can only be plain cheese or vegetarian to be POP.

Holli - Pizza is just about the only carb craver I do. I do it every 2-3 weeks. Since the family likes cheese or meat pizza, I take the cheese pizza and sautee some onion, peppers and mushrooms in Pam and top my pizza with it to get some veggie servings in.

Thanks Shannon, I ended up just having an egg white omlette but I am going to a Halloween Party this weekend, I think I am going to save my CC option for that. It is going to be so hard to be POP but I am defininty going to try!

Bizlawchik,
My family loves the pizza too. I love the fitday site. I started logging my foods when I read yours and I must admit, I check yours out for meal ideas.
I think I have become addicted to logging!!!
This is such a great support site!!!

I love the LC pizza's ESPECIALLY the garlic chicken. I am trying not to eat them right now since I am so new to the plan but I have one in the freezer waiting on me :-)
