Question How long did it take for your clothes to fit looser?

Well, I've lost 8lbs so far, but I still don't notice a bit of difference with the way my clothes are fitting. In fact, I feel particularly fat and stuffed-sausage-like today...lol...don't know why.

I was just curious how long it took before each of you could tell a difference in the way your clothes fit. I know everyone is different. I'm not expecting to be able to compare you to me. I'm just curious.

Oh, the one thing I have noticed (of all things!) is that my watch keeps turning around on my wrist, so I guess I must have lost weight in my wrists. lol At least it's something, right?

I'm sure that it varies with each person, but when I lose at least 10 lbs, I usually begin to notice the difference...*sigh* It's such a wonderful feeling! I'm looking forward to that again..

I'd say it was after the first 15 pounds before I noticed a difference in my clothes. I think it was because I was wearing a 12 and REFUSED to buy a 14, so the 12's were a bit tight. After losing 15 pounds, the 12's started to be loose rather than tight or just right. It's until things are LOOSE that I really take notice.

I think it depends on your body type and where you lose from. For me it's about 20 lbs per size. I've lost 12-13 and it's hardly noticeable at all- my clothes do feel looser, but I don't think anyone else could tell yet. My wedding ring is looser too and my bra is bigger...so yeah- you lose in weird places before it shows in the noticeable ones

I started my wt. loss journey in the summer time and was a tight size 20. I wore loose/elastic shorts and capris and didn't really try anything with an actual waist in it til I had lost the first 30 lbs. and was down to a 14 at that time. But, I do remember thinking I felt thinner even after 10 lbs. but no one else could tell the difference. Mine definitely came off my hips and legs first, so it seemed to take forever for my waist to feel much smaller.

We are all really different that's for sure. I noticed it on my waist first, then my hips. It took me about 20 pounds to see a difference. Now at 30 pounds down my clothing is swimming on me. I bought a new skirt the other day, and it was 2 sizes smaller, yay!

Stuff started getting looser on me at about 10, and by 20 I needed to buy some new clothes. It definitely depends on where the weight comes off - I lose mostly on ym face and my chest first, and then started losing everywhere else. You're doing great so far, and I'm sure you'll need to go shopping pretty soon!

When I started I was a tight 18 loose 20. Now I can fit into a relaxed fit size 14, but 16 in regular fit (for jeans). I have 4 pair of jeans that I want to wear (I plan on going lower, but they are the smallest I own) I tried them on when I first started 2 months ago and I couldn't pull 3 of the 4 past my knees. Now I can pull them up button and zip them (although I have the mushroom effect so All my belly fat goes up and over the top) So I cant wear them comfortably yet but I hope monday I can!!!

Yup I will say it depends. 15 lbs ago, I bought some tight 20s. I figured 10 lbs and I'd be able to fit perfectly in them. Nope. It took 15 lbs before they fit right. It also depends where your body decides to lose weight. My arms haven't lost much but I've lost a lot in my midsection and I've also recently noticed a large loss in my thighs. My advice is get a measuring tape out and measure away.

It depends on so many factors--whether you're exercising, including strength training, how tall you are, how much you weighed to begin with, your body shape, where you tend to lose weight first...I am like you and notice a change almist immediately in my wrists and ankles. However, when I had lost over 40 pounds (I've obviously gained a bunch back since then, but I WAS down 40 pounds at one point), I hadn't gone down a single clothing size. I was a size 22 at 310 pounds and still a size 22 at 265 pounds.

Try to keep in mind the paper towel theory--the more you weigh, the more you have to lose before you notice a difference. Think of a roll of paper towels. If there are 100 sheets on the roll and you pull 5 off, it's not going to make much difference, but if you only start with only 50 sheets and pull 5 off, it will be much more noticable. My thin friends can lose 5 pounds and look great in a bikini, whereas I can lose 3 times that and still not notice a change at all

That paper towell thing makes good sense, jillybean.

You know, the one good thing about all of this is that it makes me look forward to Mondays...weigh-in day!

Hi,Tisha
I notice at about 20 pounds I have lost inches from waist and hips but none for bust. I went from size 18 or 2x to 14 or large. Have no clue why I haven't loss any at bust? Refuse to buy any clothes unless its spandex size medium.

Best of luckIvy

It definitely varies person to person. I have lost 5lbs in the last 2 weeks and I noticed this morning that my pants are definitely looser in the waist. I think exercising especially when strength training is included makes a HUGE difference. If I wasn't working out, just watching what I eat I doubt I would be noticing anything right now.

Keep up the good work, we can do this!

I lost about 3 lbs before I noticed, but now my smallest sized jeans(14) are way to big on me now. I went from my 16s to 14s in about 2 weeks and now my 14s are too big. It gives me an excuse for new clothes.

My watch is on its last hole and it keeps turning on me too. Feel great to know your losing it somewhere!

I noticed after the first week or so that I had less "muffin top" and there was a definite difference after 7 lbs.
