Default Depression with OCD . Anyone out there?

Hi All,
I not only have depression, but I also have OCD. I'm curious if anyone else suffers with this too. I'm on Prozac 80 mg a day and Wellbutrin 150 mg daily. Please, let me know. Thanks.

Hi Laura...

Although I am not a sufferer of OCD, I am bipolar and know the depression side of it all too well. I am also on Wellbutrin...only I take 450 mg a day. A real life saver. Hope it works well for you too!

Hi,

I have issues with OCD/BDD and am currently on Lexapro, which is more for anxiety.

I have not been around here for ages...

I too have depression (actually bipolar) with OCD which has been really bad this year.

I've been on meds but now am not taking anything as trying a more natural route to controlling this.

I have severe depression a some ocd that has getting worst this year. They give me tons of drungs. Lamictal 275 mg , zyprexa 5 mg, efexor 75 mg and clonazepan 6mg per day

Depression plus drugs is equal to gain weight

I have severe depression and OCD. Ive been on various "happy pills" and none seem to have done it. I am currently taking Lexapro, which seems to have settled down my obsessive racing thoughts much. The only thing about it that ive noticed is that when im exercising, I tend to obsess even more. I dont know if its the adrenaline with the OCD, possibility? Although there are multiple types of OCD, im an obsessive thinker. I guess its like an extreme form of worry wart syndrome.lol.

Hi all!

Some days are great I can only think positive and some days I feel like a blob and everything around me is bad.

I found that i'm pretty sure I have Obsessive compulsive disorder. My 13 year old son even pen pointed it out to me the other day as I was buying a bunch of lotto tickets and scratch offs looking on the internet for the best numbers to win; he says to me "Mom, are you obsessed?" Plain as day. I said "Yes, your mom has become obsessed" and then I moved onto something else. Once I start something, I get obsessed with it and everything else goes to pot around that simple or complex project. hey maybe I should have been an art major. LOL But once I have acomplished my goal or project I am done and have lost interest and don't want to do it anymore. Does this sound like OCD? Of course I am diagnosing myself. Is there meds that help with anxiety that don't take the "REAL YOU" or the good part of you away?

I guess I will be seeing the doctor soon since now i'm pretty sure this may be a problem area in my life.

Hi all - I just found this topic and I do have depression, anxiety and OCD (all diagnosed). I am taking Celexa for all of it, and also have Xanax to take if the anxiety gets out of hand. So far the drugs have been helping, although I get tired of having to take them, and as earlier said sometimes the depression is overwhelming and then I feel really fat and miserable that I'm not losing all my weight right now, and then I go eat. Vicious circle. I eat when I'm depressed so I'm trying to keep myself motivated so the depression doesn't overwhelm me as much.

I did try starting last night to keep my TV off when I get home from work (around 5) until 8:00 p.m. This way I have to work around the house and get stuff done and I can then reward myself with watching TV for a bit before going to bed. It may be a strange little system, but I'm hoping it works for me. I don't want to be a couch potato any longer.
