With weight loss (or lack thereof sometimes), it is easy for us to focus on negative things. I was just reading a thread on the 100 lb Club about a magazine article that said how a woman thinks about herself affects her weight loss. I know that is true for me...on the days I think I'm lower than a snake's belly are the days I turn to my "friend" food for some validation. I really want to remind myself every day I am SO MUCH MORE than a fat girl!!!!
I want to start this thread so that we can all share what is good about ourselves. I hope lots of you will join me...but even if no one else posts but me, it will help me to see the good things about myself in print.
So....without further delay....here are.....
THREE GOOD THINGS ABOUT ME!!
1. I am a good listener
2. I am a pretty decent singer
3. I have a good (albeit weird!) sense of humor.
1. I am an exceptional friend
2. I have a very good job for my age and experience, and I am good at what I do.
3. I am willing to make sacrifices so those I care about can acheive their goals.
1) I am intelligent and am a fast learner;
2) I have a great memory;
3) I am a good mother.
I came to this thread three times, the first time couldn't think of anything, the second time thought of two things, then the third time I finally thought of three. Geez, we did need this!
1. I am intelligent.
2. I can find humor in just about any situation.
3. I am lighthearted and love to smile.
It was reallly hard not to qualify statements with things like "Usually," "Normally," "Most of the time", etc...how easy it is to minimize our strengths! Thanks for posting this thread, it's a reminder that we need to identify the good things, or we forget about them!
