Default not loosing anymore weight and a little down

Hi Ladies,

I am new to the forum and was wondering if any of you nursing moms out there have stopped loosing the weight. I dropped alot of weight fast after my second was born in April but now it seems as if I am stuck. I nursed my first for 15 months (she weaned herself when I was 3 months preg w/#2) and I never lost all that weight. I suppose I am just feeling a little down because I am really trying to eat the right things without jepordizing my supply and walking like crazy but nothing seems to be working. Anyone with any advise.

Thanks,
leekay

I've been kinda stuck myself, doing lots of exercise and trying to eat healthy. I do get off track from time-to-time, but in order to lose any at all, I have to drop my calories well below what is recommended for nursing. But, I plan to start weaning in another month or so, after he's a year old, maybe...so will see then.

I don't have any ideas but I can sympathize cause I've had 10 kids and nursed them all. Wouldn't trade being thin for any one of those dear children and all the joy they have brought (well, a little sorrow, too but we'll forget that).

It works all the time for some women (breastfeeding = weight loss, I mean), never for some women, and sometimes for others. Worked for me for the first one, but not for the second two. But I was/am tandem nursing since #2 was born. It's kinda frustrating, but nursing's so much more important to me. For me, it's a 3 year commitment (in an ideal world; I don't think Linda's gonna wean when she hits 3), so I'm kind of adjusting to things going a lot more slowly than I'd like.

I have found what works for me is adding more exercise. Moreso than eating less, I mean. I feel better about it too; I know that even if I don't see a drop on the scale, as long as I'm exercising I'm getting healthier. Not always enough to get me moving, but often enough.

Thanks for all the kind words and advise and helping me to remember that nursing my baby (for as long as she'll have me) is way more important than to lose 10 or 15 lbs. But for the time being I continue to keep on walking, doing yoga and eating healthy. GreatBigMonsterMomma your so right, even if the scale doesn't drop you do feel alot better after exercising.
