Default Curry Paste?!

I want to make this recipe: http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/reci..._33275,00.html replacing the mayo with plain yogurt... but I can't find curry paste anywhere!! When I asked at the grocery they looked at me like I had 2 heads! Any suggestions where I can find or make this stuff?! (without obscure ingredients that my grocery store doesn't carry either!!!)

Thanks!

Here's a recipe. I googled it and found lots of recipes and a couple places online where you could order it.

Curry powder would probally work just as well since it's for flavoring the chicken rather than thickening anything. My walmart sells it so it shouldn't be too hard to find.

Sounds like a fun recipie, I might have to try it too

Any Asian grocery stores in Hawaii? I buy my curry paste (and cheap spices, like coriander) at the local Asian grocery store becuase they are cheaper there.

A Taste of Thai is a fairly common brand here in Seattle (found in all the regular grocery stores). They have curry paste too. Did you look near the soy sauce in the grocery store? The brand looks like this:

That brand doesn't look familiar... I'll have to go out to town and try the Daie later this week... thanks!

If you have a Whole Foods near you, they have spices like coriander.

Hey ValRock!
if you get you curry paste like I did, I recommend to try out this recipe
http://www.weightwatchers.co.uk/food...cipeId=7010362

or even dry cooked chopped up onion, celery and garlic *** curry paste add some milk and water (or milk powder and water) and loads of chopped up veg and chopped up potato and let it boil/cook/thicken whick may take 30min+ .
My and my veggie bro really enjoyed it! it was low on calories and fat!
