Default Protein Shake Ideas

I am always starving after work and I have been having horrible snack attacks right, so I thought that maybe I'd have a little protein shake with a piece of fruit. Something low cal, low fat. I have some chocolate whey powder and it's really gross. Does anyone have any ideas for something that would make it more tasty. Also, is a protein shake a goo thing to have? I have loads of weight to lose.

Thanks!

Why not just use plain ff yogurt and mixed fruit? That's what I do. Lots of protein in that, unless for some reason you need tons of protein.

cheers,
Sue

You could try maybe making a peanut butter smoothie. Add some pb, a banana, and some cocoa powder? I find that bananas are so sweet you really don't need any extra sweeteners. There are tasty protein shake powders out there, I'd have to do some research to find out the names.

Instead of buying a chocolate protein you could get the fruit flavored protein shakes and then mix with them a little yogurt and some fruit. It is yummy and good for you. The key to protein shakes is finding one that tastes good because there are some that are not to bad. I use the ISO brand and it is the best I have yet to have.

I think the chocolate protein powder is good with a little fat free milk, 1/2 banana, and a couple ice cubes in the blender.

Thank you so much for the protein shake ideas! You all make them sound so much yummier than mine! Thanks.

I really like Designer Whey http://www.designerwhey.com/ I've tried several kinds and like the flavor of this product. I usually have a protein shake as a mid-afternoon mini-meal - the time when I'm most likely to go on a binge. It really fills me up and I don't eat too much at dinner. I sometimes blend one scoop of vanilla flavor whey powder with 1-1/2 cups nonfat milk, a couple of ice cubes, a tablespoon of psyllium husk powder (for fiber), 1/2 cup of frozen unsweetened raspberries or strawberries and two tsp. sugar (you can omit this if you like, or use Splenda). This makes a big, delicious, thick shake (approx. 260 calories).
