My favorite high-protein snack is beef jerky. Surprisingly, its actually low-cal while being satisfying, and remarkably low fat/high protein. I try to buy mine at healthfood stores, because the sodium is a bit high, but even if you have to buy it at the local 7-11, and you don't have any sodium limitations, its really protein-rich (obviously, if you're limiting your sodium, this isn't going to be a great choice unless you buy it at a specialty store). As an added bonus, its nice to have snacks that don't require a special trip somewhere to buy - if you are stuck without a healthy, high protein snack and you're ok with the extra sodium, you can walk into any gas station and get something satisfying.
Egg whites are the other high-protein favorite, but not very portable (unless you're a hard-boiled egg fan). My sister used to carrie little baggies of turkey breast with her everywhere - put a new bag in every morning, its ultra lean and also high in protein.
