Default Weight Bench in Cramped Space

Are there any other exercises I can do with my weight bench/bar besides bench press? Our weight bench is in kind of a cramped position and there's just enough room to do bench press but I would like to find another exercise to do on my other lifting days so I can utilize the bench more.

I don't think we have enough room for inclined press...hmm...

Thanks!

Hi Lucky!

Hmmm .... how about --

Bench and BB
Close grip bench press (tri's)
Bent over rows (back)
Standing curls (if you can curl the bar) (bi's)
Stiff legged dead lifts (hammies)
Dead lifts - (compound - works everything)
Squats
Lunges

Bench alone
Triceps dips
Step ups

Bench and DBs
One armed rows (back)
Pullovers (back)
Pec flyes (chest)
Chest press (trying alternating arms)
Kickbacks (tri's)
Lying extensions a/k/a sullcrushers (tri's)
Seated curls (bi's)
Concentration curls (bi's)
Seated hammer curls (bi's)
Lying side laterals (shoulders)
Seated overhead press (shoulders)
Seated side laterals (shoulders)
Arnold press (shoulders)

I'm sure there's a bunch more ...

thanks Meg

I forgot about close-grip bp's - did those in college...that will be a good one...

and I might be able to maneuver the bar off the holders (or whatever you call them - lol) for the stiff legged dead lifts...(I don't like to do them much with dumbbells...another forgotten lift from my college days...)

Thanks again!

I would do them off the floor. You don't really need the exaggerated ROM of doing them from the bench, and alot of people have managed to hurt their back that way. You can always get a bit more of a ROM using 25# plates instead of 45#'ers.

Robert - i should have clarified better

I meant getting the bar off the bench area and to an area of the room where I could do the dead leg lifts without poking a hole in the wall or breaking a window may be a feat in itself - lol

Thanks!
