Default Cloudy brain

So, I don't know if any of you have been on lamictal, but it seems to be scewing with my brain. It's hard to focus my thoughts. I haven't been communicating, because it just seems too hard. If this is on ongoing side effect, I don't know if I'm going to be abnle to deal with it.

I come check the site regularly, but can't concentrate on the posts, ot reply. but I am here,.

Hopefully this is temporaty. Talk later.

Marcie, talk to your doctor.... obviously somethings not right. You should be able to function. Let us know what the doc says, but please don't wait...call him tomorrow.

Hugs !!

Marciet

Most people who take LAMICTAL tolerate it well. Common side effects include: dizziness, headache, blurred or double vision, lack of coordination, sleepiness, nausea, vomiting, insomnia, and rash.
This was taken from one of the Lamictal sites.

Let your doctor know ASAP.....sounds like powerful stuff.

Hang in there and keep in touch

Hi Marcie!

I take Lamictal. And I have trouble concentrating. I didn't notice the side-effect at first, because I was in school and didn't have to work eight hours straight. I could take breaks whenever I wanted, for as long as I wanted. But after graduation, I discovered I only could concentrate about four hours a day. My doctor recently prescribed some ADHD meds to offset the effect of Lamictal.

Don't know how long you've been taking the med... I started it in March of 2003 and was slowly weaned off of Lithium, while taking more Lamictal, until July 2003. Sometimes it takes a while to work. Personally, it was so worth it to me... I've lost over half the weight I put on when I took Lithium, plus I no longer have to sleep twelve hours a day or take anti-depressants.

Hope you find what works for you.
