Default Can't take walks now - and gaining fast!

Since I hurt my back a couple of weeks ago I haven't been able to do my usual 3 or 4 miles of walking a day. I am also sitting around the house more and eating out of boredom. My pants that were falling off of me a month ago are now getting snug already!

Is there anyone here that can't walk for exercise and does some other type instead? How do I not sit around and eat?

There are many ways you can still keep moving. If you have any light weights you can do seated arm exercises and leg raises. It may not be the same but you're still moving. As far as eating out of boredom....here's what I do.... any time I feel the urge to snack I exercise or do a craft that keeps me busy and takes my mind off of it. I realize the exercise part is difficult for you right now but you can find something to replace the boredom. Hope this helped a litlle. Good Luck!!

Are you seeing a physiotherapist (physical therapist)? If you're having epidural therapy, you should be having some physio as well (at least that's how it's done here in the UK) and they should be able to give you some ideas as to how to exercise safely.

Is a swimming pool and water walking out of the question? If you have back pain and its active, you need to be as careful as you can, but not avoid exercise. I think it would be be wise to get advice from whatever medical specialist you are under.

Definitely focus more on the food - technically you should be able to lose weight just watching what you're eating, without exercise, although exercise has a ton of other benefits. Start tracking what you're eating every day and it should help you stay on track until you can exercise again.

Collage Video and type Chair Dancing into the search. I've tried one of these and you DO get a workout.
