I haven't done any kickboxing but I have taken Tang Soo Do (like Karate). It's a lot of fun. Right now I weight train with a personal trainer three times a week and do 40 minutes of high intensity cardio 5 days a week, using Stair Master, Treadmill and the Elliptical thingy.
But the point I wanted to make was, don't be afraid to take a class because you'll look silly, for two reasons: 1) EVERYONE (unless they're unbelievably coordinated!) makes mistakes when they begin exercising. 2) Most people are so worried about how THEY look they don't have time to be concerned with how you look! I wish you could have seen me when I studied Tang Soo Do. Just imagine a 235 lb. woman trying to jump rope for a warm up or doing a jumping front kick!
I used to be so embarassed until my master pointed out what I just told you...and when I looked during class, it was true! I understand how you feel, but I hope it won't keep you from trying new things! Good Luck!
