Default urban rebounder question

hi there -
i've been poking through some posts, and had dumb a question for the rebounders out there. i know its easier on the knees and back...but i had a question about ankles. has anyone twisted an ankle doing this? it looks like such fun, but this would be my biggest concern (well, other than falling off of it, but i think using the handles would help with that. )

thanks,
susan

I haven't had any trouble. It is really fun and feels very safe to me. I think as long as your are wearing good shoes your chances of twisting an ankle are the same as any other aerobics, maybe even better because you don't do a lot of twists and pivots on the rebounder.

I actually prefer to do my rebounder barefoot (better traction?). you are using the balls of your feet, except when doing heel digs. I know this is not recommended but I've never had a problem.

I think the risk of injury is lower because your impact is absorbed.

I prefer to do it barefoot as well. The intro dvd says that it's fine to do it in bare feet. I've only done it twice since I just got it. The first time I did it without shoes and the second with shoes. I'll do it without tomorrow. In response to your original question, I haven't twisted an ankle yet. I also don't need the bar.

That thing sure does get your heart pumping though!!

thanks everyone!

i appreciate the input. i've decided that if the jolly guy doesn't bring me one for xmas, well heck... i'm gonna get myself one as a new years gift!

we are *finally* re-doing our basement into a playroom/exercise room, so i need to decorate it up! i think a little rebounder would look cute in there, don't you all?
