Smile Newbie Here

Hi all, I just wanted to say hi!! I joined yesterday and I looked over your messages and I think it's neat how you each support one another. I am trying to drop a few pounds, workout more, and just become a healthier person. I just moved back in with my parents (yeah it's pretty tough) and it seems like all the "comfort foods" I never bought when I was on my own are back in the house....and since I haven't had them in a while I'm going after them hard core, I just wanted to say hi to everyone and hope to hear from u all soon!

Feel free to jump in on any thread here. This is a great bunch of girls and you will find lots of support and FUN!

Here's a suggestion concering bad snack foods. Don't purchase them, try and have healthier choices availabe to you around the house. Carrots & low fat ranch dressing, Fruit, peanut butter and a few crackers, just a few ideas off of the top of my head.

Good Luck to you!

I know what you mean about parent's house having TONS of junk. I totally go on a junk food spree when I visit. Of course I have lots of younger sibs who don't have weight problems so they eat all that junk too. I don't know what I would do if I had to LIVE with it.

Maybe you can buy your own healthy snacks? Or let your Mom (if that is who does the grocery shopping) know you just don't eat that stuff anymore and would rather have healthy stuff. She could be buying the junk out of habit since that is probably what you ate when you lived at home before.
