I've become pretty bored with my workout routines and I'm thinking of adding a couple of days swimming in each week. I just need to mix things up, I know that if i let myself get bored I'm more likely to give up....
So does anyone here swim? Is it a good way to help lose weight? Any advice? I used to be in swimming squad about 6 years ago and thought it might be good to get back into it and help with my boredom also....
My personal opinion is that ANYTHING that is fun and makes you move is a good thing... I just want to add that in a couple of weeks I too will start some triathlon training swimming lessons ...
I agree with Ilene, the only thing to keep in mind is, floating does not count as swimming
Swimming does burn a lot of calories per hour, as your body has to burn energy both for the exercize AND to compensate to keep the body at the right temperature because the surrounding water temperature is lower than the body temperature...
