When I get that way, I do something else that makes me active, or makes me do something intense that prohibits eating. For example, if all I want to do is eat ice cream, I go for a walk instead. Or I'll do some housework or artwork, something that occupies my brain with something other than food. Exercise especially stops the immediate craving for me. If it doesn't stop a craving, at least I got some extra activity points so I don't feel bad if I do eat the ice cream.
