Default Four years ago today

Four years ago today, I went on a diet. My size 16 jeans wouldn't zip, and Gap didn't sell size 18 back then.

Unlike most of you, I have nothing profound to say. My life has changed, I wear MUCH smaller clothes, almost all my friends have changed.

I exercise a lot more than when I was losing. I eat only slightly more. It took me four months to reach my first goal weight, then another three and a half years to achieve my goal body. I'm really close

I can't think of anything much more profound than 'My life has changed'.

Woo-hoo! Congrats!

Congrats, Mel. I agree with Anne; anything that changes your way of life is pretty freakin' profound.

to you, Mel. Would actually love to lift a glass of red, but it'll have to be a virtual one, as I'm I'm outta calories for the day .

Congratulations Mel. That's such an amazing accomplishment.

I'm really glad you posted. It got me to thinking. As is my want ... I've been pretty hard on myself for drifting back upward. I needed a bit of a kick to remind me that I have actually maintained a 20 lb loss for over two years. And that actually for most of that time it's been 25.

I sure appreciate this site. We definitely need a head set recheck once in a while.

Mel,
You are such an inspiration to us all! Congrats!
I just realized that on July 23 /2001 I did my first step too - not to better body or less weight - at that time I just wanted to change - so I signed up for the gym membership...
I just changed my drivers licence for the new one and looking at the picture realized what a change that was! Sadly enough, I did not scan my old drivers licence picture - just for historical milestone
