Default Bell's Palsy

Anyone out there dealing with this themselves or with a family member

DH woke up yesterday morning with the symptoms and was diagnosed in the PM

I have read info on the internet but just wondering what we are looking at
How long are most affected?
He is being treated with prednisone and Valtrex. I can't find much info in either one as to whether he should have a drink on either one

Any help would be appreciated. This is just a stressful shot out of the blue!!!

Prednisone: Drinking alcohol may increase the risk of some side effects with prednisone. Discuss the safety of a drink of alcohol with your doctor.

From http://www.bccancer.bc.ca/HPI/DrugDa...sonePtInfo.htm

Valtrex: Are there any side affects from drinking alcohol while taking Valtrex?

AskDocWeb: Only the ones you get from drinking without the Valtrex.

From: http://www.askdocweb.com/valtrex.html

Hi, don't know an enormous amount about this problem, but unfortunately, my cousin in NY 'got' BP exactly a year ago, and is still getting over the effects of it. You can still see the side of the face 'dropping' around the mouth. I hope your DH gets over this a bit more quickly than her! Good luck!

I only know a bit about this, because one of my coworkers had it about 3 years ago. He got completely over it in about 3 or 4 months, and it has not returned. He was able to work and function normally, he only missed a few days of work due to doctor's appointments.

Thanks loads ladies!!!!

This is a little stressfull not really knowing what to expect. I am wondering if it is somewhat stress related also.
We own our own business where DH puts in 14hr days 7 days a week so that certainly doesnt help.

I was up picking on junk during the night so obviously the stress is affecting me as I haven't done that for ages
BUT SOMEONE ONCE TOLD ME THAT THE PTS DON'T COUNT WHEN YOU ARE EATING IN FRONT OF THE FRIDGE IN A DARK KITCHEN IN THE NUDE !!!!!!

HAVE A GREAT DAY
Cindy
