OF the more than 35 pastas I tried, these are the best.
Flat Whole-Wheat Pasta
All with 5 to 7 grams of fiber, 180 to 210 calories per 2-ounce serving.
BIONATURAE fettuccine and spaghetti is good. Both are organic.
DE CECCO linguine is toothsome and good.
PASTA RISCOSSA linguine is nicely toothsome; a bit nutty.
WESTBRAE organic spaghetti has good texture.
LA TERRA E IL CIELO organic capellini is neutral.
WESTBRAE organic lasagna has nice flavor and O.K. texture.
ANNIE'S organic spaghetti is not as smooth as others.
Other Flat Pasta
With 2 or 3 grams of fiber, about 200 calories per 2-ounce serving.
EDEN buckwheat soba is pleasant and neutral.
TINKYADA brown rice spaghetti style (with rice bran) tastes like Asian rice noodles definitely not whole wheat.
TINKYADA brown rice lasagna (with rice bran) has texture that is acceptable.
Whole-Wheat Shaped Pasta
With 5 or 6 grams of fiber and about 200 calories per 2-ounce serving.
BIONATURAE organic fusilli has good texture.
HODGSON MILL elbows have good texture.
LA TERRA E IL CIELO farro penne, which is organic, has texture that is among the better ones.
Other Pasta Shapes
TINKYADA brown rice elbow with rice bran (2 grams fiber and 210 calories) tastes like rice noodles.
EDEN kamut spirals, have a neutral taste.
