Default Just wanted to share...

In my daily (or not so) reading today I came across the following from AA's 24 Hours a Day (one of their daily meditation books):

May 20th (under "Meditation for the Day")
"I must constantly live in preparation for something better to come. All of life is a preperation for something better....Know that God has something better in store for you, as long as you are making yourself ready for it. All your existence in this world is a training for a better life to come."

What really struck me was the line "Know that God has something better in store for you, as long as you are making yourself ready for it."
Am I making myself ready for the things that God has in store for me? He wants me to be happy and enjoy life, but am I willing to put aside my own self will and allow His will to guide me in all of my daily thoughts and actions.

Some days I'm just willing, with no action to follow. Other days I truly do set aside my own selfish will to allow His will to guide me. I have to remember those days when I am pondering my willingness (time, energy, money...). I have to also remember that I am not perfect, and know that there is a whole area of grey between the extreems in my life.

Good reminder, Steph. Thank you!
I have a quote somewhere... I think beside my writing desk in the attic... that reminds me of that. I'll dig it out later...

Ah... here we go...

If only we could live our life as if each moment were our last... we would connect with that essential part of ourselves that does not die.
Ask yourself, is my life equipping me for my death? Because you become what you practice. What you are is what you have been. What you will be is what you are now.

Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche

This is something else I have beside my desk... short but sweet.

It is good to have an end to journey towards, but it is the journey that matters in the end.
