I know!! The only part that kinda concerns me is that I put it into FitDay (need to stop doing that!) and it's only 900 calories. I'm not sure if I should just go with it, or add some more food. I'm pretty sure if I eat all that, I'll be satisfied all day.
B: plain yogurt with splenda & a banana
L: LO black bean soup & jalapeno cornbread
S: Pear
D: Pan-fried chicken, oven fries, broccoli & cauliflower with spinach avocado dip
S: Maybe an apple if I'm hungry
So ... where could I add some more? An egg at breakfast instead of the maltomeal? I guess I could add a slice of ham with my lunch today? I just hate to be that full! Since I'm already at work, I'm at the mercy of what I can scrounge up.
Hey I found a container of Stagg chili. It says it's 97% fat free and has beans in it. I wonder if it would be considered Core?
I also have a can of Chunky Steak and Potato soup.
Or should I stop worrying about it and stop putting my food in FitDay? Maybe if I didn't know it was under 1200 calories, and as long as I ate three meals and a snack or two and got in my milks and waters, I would be okay?
Kathy, 900 calories is not enough, it seems to me. I've never calculated my calories. I try to have protein and starch with lunch and dinner. Mostly because I want it. I don't have a problem yet with being too full. I hope it happens for me some day. I think that Stagg chili is Core. The only problem is if there is meat in there but even if there is meat, it's pretty lean so it's probably ok. Ok, I'm done arguing with myself. I still say it's Core.
I went back and looked at your menu again. Do you have your healthy oil in there somewhere? That would add calories. I'd also either have more meat at dinner and maybe consider having a snack.
I have my 2 teaspoons of oil that I take each day. That adds 70 (I had forgotten to put it on). I also just ate some mixed nuts and so there's another 170 calories. Now I'm up to 1028 because I had to change some other things around.
If I have two slices of ham, that gives me 1097. Whew, this is HARD! As far a snack, I have no earthly idea what I could have that would add something. I can make some pudding, but that isn't much.
I think I should stop trying so hard, and also stop the FitDay thing. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going overboard and I think we can tell I'm not.
kathy, if you're exercising, you need to eat more calories. they told us a formula at tops one time that tells how many calories you need to maintain and also to lose according to your body weight. i'll look to see if i still have a copy. if i don't, i'll try to get another.
