Ruth, you darling girl, I'm so very, very sorry that this is happening! What a terrible mess!!!
Wish I could be there to help you out!!! Maybe your daughter and GD can come and help you bail out the basement? I remember doing that with my dad when I was 7 and our sump pump broke. I thought it was tons of fun!
Kids are odd that way.
I hope that things work out quickly and you can salvage some of your day off. Maybe Ellis can take you out for some hot whiskey tonight?
LC, sorry that you have to work two jobs, but so glad that you are back at one that you like!!!
Enjoy! I like the new avatar!
Cottage, hot flashes?
Oy!
I'm glad you at least figured them out. You realize that this grants you full control of the thermostat. If Jake objects, remind him of those mood swings.
Enjoy the cleaning up. You could always ease your work by doing what I do and forgetting to put Easter stuff out altogether!
(I still have Christmas stuff outside!!!
)
Soon, enjoy your day! Your new avatar is absolutely adorable! I could just eat that cutie right up!
Chipper, so sorry about your sister.
Is she okay now? I love light shining in on clean rooms too, especially those with wooden floors.

Ellis, how are you doing?
Me:
Well, DH took me to Washington DC!
It was a lot of fun but definitely exhausting. This chick needs a break!
I would have really loved a weekend at a spa doing nothing but getting massages, reading a book, lying in a sauna, etc.
DH likes to *do* things. We did so much walking that in spite of a couple of small cheats and TOM starting, I ended up four or five pounds down this morning!
Now if I can just keep my weight there or lower...
We went to the Smithsonian, saw fireworks and the kite festival, went to the Cherry blossom latern lighting ceremony, visited memorials (including WWII), had dinner at a really nice French restaurant, went to see Mister Rogers (a play from the 40's...very funny!) at the Kennedy Center, and went to church at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception on Sunday (it was incredible!). What a fun and busy weekend!
I have tons of shopping to catch up on, but there are still some leftovers in the fridge from last week. Let's just hope they don't kill us off!
I have class tonight and tomorrow...I may be able to pop off to the store after class tonight, but we'll see.
I have a presentation to do tonight in class on the huge paper. After all the work the paper entailed, I'm trying not to stress about the presentation too much. Then this weekend I have two state tests for my teaching certification, content specialy tests: one on multi-subject (elementary) and one on Literacy. It's an all day thing on Saturday, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. At least I know I'll be eating healthy and not have a sugar-rush in my brain!
I'm going to do Phase 1 starting Wed. to detox from this weekend. Does anyone have any good suggestions for something I can bring for lunch that doesn't require more than an ice pack for refrigeration but isn't a salad?
Next week I have a paper due for my Tuesday night class, a presentation for the same class, and then Wed. to Friday I have to be in a city about 1.5 hours away to help run a huge teacher recruitment fair. I love the group I work with on this thing, and it's a lot of fun, but exhausting because you stand for nearly two days along with a bunch of setting up tables and chairs, then breaking them down. I'm hoping my hotel has a fridge in the room or the breakfast area so I can store some SBD food. I started SBD after this event last year because I knew it would be hard to deal with the food they have there. This year I'm going to do it!
I'll pack food to supplement breakfast and lunch, and we eat dinner out so I think I'll be able to find things to eat.
Hope everyone has a great day, especially Ruth.
