Default Getting Ready 4 Phase II

I am really nervous about starting Phase II. I have seen and heard where alot of people actually start gaining weight when they start this phase. Any suggestions from you Beach Gals would be greatly appreciated. Today's weigh in showed me another 3 pounds gone for a total of 6 pounds and it will be 2 weeks Monday on South Beach and I really don't want to gain any back! Thanks in advance!

Vicki, be sure to read the hints for easing into Phase II under the Phase II List in the FAQ section. The biggest problem with making the switch is adding too much too soon.

Wow I need coffee - I read your post title as "getting ready for Phase 4"

That's what I have been doing - if Phase 4 consists of eating everything on Phase 2 only TWICE as much!

So don't do Phase 4

I think planning is key - and adding good carbs back slowly and try sticking to just one each week.

Best of luck.

Smile Hi Vking, Don't be Afraid

of Phase 2 just go into it very slowly. My suggestion is to start with a piece of fruit like apples & berries for lunch or dinner. Whole grain bread or cereal for breakfast,at the beginning. Fruit tends to bring your blood sugar up if you have it the first thing in the morning. So Dr. A sugguest having it at the other meals.

Have a good beach day Hugs BB

I know that when I added 1 whole wheat pita a day (which doesn't sound like much to add) as my introduction to Phase 2 I stalled. Which is probably just the way my body reacts to wheat. I agree absolutely with Beach Bum — start slowly, and 1 thing at a time. I can sail along with some things that are allowed on Phase 2, but that pita bread slams on the brakes for me. Just find out what your "brakes" are, and stop them and go on to the next yummy thing that's allowed. GOOD LUCK!!

Thank you all so much for your help. I am going to add 1 fruit daily for the next week and see how it goes then I will add 1 starch in daily also. After that I will play it by ear.
