I started out at 240, and I figure I had about 100 lbs to lose. I lost around 30 and stopped... then gained 13 back so now I am working on losing it again.
I am also new to this forum. My first goal is to lose 100 lbs and then an additional 40. I am 32 and work in the healthcare industry. I have stuggled with weightloss for as long as I can remember. I hope that this website will help me get the support I need. My other skinny friends do not quite understand my predicament. I'm sure that everyone else has experienced this as well.

Hi! I'm new too. I posted all my info in the profiles thread, but suffice it to say I'm 37 and I need to lose about half of my current self. I've done the whole weight loss thing before, so I've been trying to figure out what makes this time so different. Best I can figure is that I'm looking at the tail end of my thirties and I just realized I said I'd lose this weight five...FIVE years ago...and somehow I'm fatter today than I was back then. Crazy, that. And enough with this madness already.

Sandi, your letter to your son and family made me cry. I have made that vow to my 3 year old son Christian as well. He is my rock, and he does deserve the best I can give him. And I know I would just be so hurt to see him hurt by other kid's cruel comments about his fat mom. So I write at the top of my calendar in my room each month that I vow to continue my journey to wellness. Then I sign it. That's my contract for that month. I have been on track for 7 months now. It seems to be working. I'm doing ok. And you are so right, putting your child first will help you thru this. I'm not just doing it for him, I'm doing it for me. But he's the one I think of when I want to overeat. It's sad, don't you think tho, that we have the will to do this for them, but we didn't love ourselves enough yet to do it? Odd how things work out. I think we both have plenty of time to make good habits and keep them long enough to get them ingrained so that we never have this problem again. I'm cheering for you!
