Goal date and weight.....
I know I asked this several months ago, but there are so many new people to the board. How about posting your goal date and weight. I think it's so cool to see this. Figure yourself at a safe loss of two pounds per week and figure out how much you want to lose, then go to the calendar and figure out how many weeks. It kinda helps me have things concrete. I even put my weekly goals in my calendar in my purse. This calendar shows me at achieving my goal weight the 30th of November. Something to strive for.....and keep myself "behaving" during the Thanksgiving weekend.
What's yours?

Well, I was thinking of (hoping to) reaching my goal weight by Christmas, but I have been just slogging along recently. I guess its time to "kick it up a notch" and go back to Phase 1 for a bit. Ready....Set....Goal~~~~~
Goal weight - 130
Goal date - December 25, 2004

My goal weight is 175 (though I may find that I'll have to accept something higher, or so my doctors keep telling me...). I hope to reach it by June. At this rate, I'll get there much earlier, but things will slow down eventually, so...
The neat excel sheet that someone passed out early this year (I'm so sorry I have forgotten who!) tells you when you will be done, base on your last three weekly weigh ins. Mine says sometime in March. We'll see...

My goal weight is 165. I have no set goal date, per se. When I get there, I get there. I can't put that kind of pressure on myself to do that or I would get too frustrated and give up.
I would like to be at 179 by Christmas. But at this point, 185 will do!

My goal weight (at which point I evaluate my weight and adjust my goal weight) is 199 or somewhere in the 190's and I plan to be at that goal weight by October 2005. That would be a weight loss average of 2lbs a week for the next year.

1st goal - 140 by February 12th
I think I will be looking and feeling great when I reach 140, but
I have a feeling that I will like to lose about 10 more lbs. In the past when I have felt my best, I weighed 128-130.
2nd goal - 130 by March 26th

I know this is off topic but I just have to say Nelie, you look GREAT!!!! I've been out of town and busy with weddings last week and this week so I don't know when you changed your pic but you can really see the weight loss in you face! Congratulations to you!!!!!
Now, I wish I could post when I'd like to reach my goal but my life is so completely hectic right now. I'd be happy to get to 140 by Christmas but am a little worried about the holidays and that I have several weddings and 2 bridal shows in the mix as well! I guess it's just a matter of willpower!!!

I've got a goal weight but have resisted setting a goal date. My thinking is that if there is a beginning and and end, then there is an on and an off. On/Off thinking has resulted in a dieting career for me. I want this to be a way of life. So, if it's slow, and it is at the moment, then it's just part of the process. Does that make any sense to anyone else?

Heidi, I'd say that there is never an on and an off with weight loss, it is either losing or maintenance. I think of my date as the date that I plan to start thinking about maintenance and switch from worrying so much about losing weight.
PS Thanks everyone for your compliments, I really appreciate it.

This thread is a great idea!
I would like to be 230 by the end of December which means a heck of a lot of weight loss between now and then.
Funny, I've been obsessed with the magic number, 230 (my weight loss nearly always stalls before I reach 230). But when I sat down and calculated how long it would take me to reach 199, I realized, it was my birthday! So my second goal will be to reach 199 by my birthday, May 24th, 2005.
I'm happy! I never thought beyond 230 because I didn't think it was possible but this week in Phase I, I've felt that I can do this!!!

Well I do not have a goal weight set. I am just waiting until I get to a weight/size I feel I would like to stay at. I do however have a date in my mind to reach it by and that is the end of Jan. when I started SBD. I know I could have and should have been at my goal had I not taken the summer off! tee-hee Good luck to all of us on reachin and maintaining our goals!
Nelie.. I agree with you 100% on the not thinking of it as on or off but maintenance. BTW ur pic does look great!

Jessica, 40 lbs in 2 months is quite ambitious but not impossible I'd only be concerned about setting that as your goal then if you don't have to meet it, would you be demotivated?
I'll race you to 199... Seriously, I know I will weigh 199 one day and I am hoping that moment will come next year, if it doesn't, I plan to get as close to it as possible by the end of next year. For you, to lose 71 lbs in 7 months is a more reasonable goal, so it is very doable. My birthday is May 25th btw but I don't think I'd be 199 by then but I'll try my hardest to at least be 230 by my birthday.
