I'm at work so I can't check but I am certain that pumpkin is allowed only on phase 2 and I think it is limited at that. Can someone check their GFGC book?

Just checked and it says to AVOID on page 123. It looks like only summer squash like zucchini and crookneck are allowed. Boo! I love acorn squash and fully intend to have it once in a while this fall!

Ruth, do we have the same book? On my page 123 (GFGCG), it says, Pumpkin, 1/2 cup (serving), Very Limited (once a month).

As to when you can have it...I would wait for Phase 2, just to be sure.

Laurie, my book definitely says avoid on page 123. It was published in 2004. Dear Dr A must have done another revision. I'm starting to lose faith!

I'm with you Ruth... It's hard to keep up anymore! I love the fact that it is all adding and he is not taking food away but please get a version we can keep up with! haha He needs to redo the book and this time leave out all the bloopers! haha Maybe he should just have a yearly updated version! haha

Ruth, that is very confusing! I'm with you...I love that he updates, but there ought to be some easy way to star things that are new so we aren't totally confused. Mine is copyright 2004, also...and so I wonder if there is a different version in Canada...or is something odd going on?

Anyone on the SBD website (Ellis?) who can help us with this question? Mine definitely says "Very Limited", not avoid.

Maybe he's picking on Canadians? We're easy to pick on because we are so polite.

It counts as a starch on Phase II. It is in the column of foods to reintroduce in Phase II and it does not give a serving size but everything else is 1/2 cup serving size. I checked the website for ya.

firefly, I would say don't eat pumpkin until phase 2 and when you do only do so very rarely.

If they include pumpkin, they should not be in a Phase I Section. Which ones did you spot?
