OK, brief history first. I have a relatively mild case of scoliosis (curvature of the spine). This leads to occasional very bad backaches, of the type where I don't want to move. (Not possible with two small children, but that's another topic.
)
I'm in the midst of a bad spell right now. I do not want to completely stop exercising, because I know it will be that much harder to get in the habit again.
Today I did some upper-body work with weights.
I'm trying to come up with an idea of what to do tomorrow that won't be too much strain on my back. (Don't know if I'll have this ache again tomorrow, but it'll be a help to have some ideas in the bank for the future at any rate.)
Can anyone help with stuff to do while my back's bothering me? I know weightliftig is pretty good, but there is a limit to what I can do without bugging my back. My usual standby, walking, is pretty much out of the question when I get like this.
I won't have access to a gym tomorrow, but I might in the future. (I don't use the elliptical; tried it once & it was too much like jogging in the breast area.)
I'm thinking of yoga or Pilates. Does anyone know of any asanas/Pilates moves I can do without placing undue strain on my back?
TIA
