Default Clothing Swap?

Hi Chickies

After thinking about you all this weekend [thank you for not letting me go over the edge!] and it keeping me from the binge that could have been, I started thinking about this community on the whole, and my brain functioned [shocker!] and I came up with something:

How about doing a clothing swap?

See, I've been giving my old clothes to Good Will when I grow out of them. And while nothing is wrong with that, there are a few items I still have that I LOVE, but can't wear. For instance, I have a Size 18 summer dress and shirt that are too big for me now. I spent a lot of money on it and it is in fantastic condition [and just dry cleaned, aside from my trying it on] but can't bear to just give it to good will. Same goes for many a shirts I have...

Would anyone be interesting in swapping clothes? I would not mind footing some shipping costs to know that the dress is going to a friend. I thought maybe others would feel the same way. I mean, I have a few sweaters and such too. Plus, I know how expensive it can be to have to get a new wardrobe at each size incriment. It can also function as a reward/motivater to fit into something without paying for it.

Just a thought. Let me know what you think.

I think that is a fantastic idea! How sweet and thoughtful you are to be thinking of others. I also have some nice clothes and will be happy to exchange or send them (after they're too large for me). As a matter of fact, that is another incentive to lose weight. To be able to clean out your closets and send the good stuff away to others and to get clothes back in return.

Ok, so I guess we can list what we have and if there are any takers, we can PM the owner of the clothing?

I can also set up a website for us -- so we can share pictures of the items too.

I am sooo excited! Anyone else?

Sounds like a great idea, Jenn!

I actually managed to spend $600 at Lane Bryant right before I went on SBD. Um, lets call that a MAJOR case of bad planning! So I now have a bunch of barely worn clothes that are starting to fall off me! They are 26/28s and I would love to give them to a good home once they finally fall off!

BTW, let's hope my DH never sees this site or my @$$ will be toast!

LOL Laurie. Do any of them have tags still? Lane Bry is good at returns without a reciept if it has a tag. I've done it a few times!

Ok, so far we have a few items in sizes 26/28, and 18/20's

Any takers? PM us.

I might be interested in some of the clothes that ya'll can't wear anymore. I just came off of over 3 weeks of leave at work due to surgery, and I don't have anything to wear! I tried on my clothes last night and everything is either a bit to big or a bit too small. I'm recovering from foot surgery so shopping is out of the question right now. I am probably a size 14 in pants, which is what I need the most. I'm about 5'5" and currently weighting 177. And my hips/butt are big, lol - classic pear shape.

Anyhow, if anyone has anything available you can PM me.......and thanks in advance.

Wow, I am so thrilled to hear about all your sizes...everyone is getting so tiny! I went through my closet (I never got rid of any of my skinny clothes) last night and found a ton of treasures, including a couple size 14s that I got a while ago and never even was able to wear! I found a size 24 dress that I looked like a sausage in when I bought it (I fit in the jacket for the dress, which is why I bought it) and it not only fits but is big! Whoopee! Those 26/28s might be up for grabs soon, and I think I already have one taker. Unfortunately, I have worn all the 26/28s, but they are super cute, so I am glad to think of them going to a good home!

What is everyone doing with their clothes when they are between sizes? Do you wear them big, take them in, what? Just wondering...

I am still wearing 18's and 20's. I can't afford to buy new clothes or get them taken in. Plus, it might be cheaper to just start anew rather than take them in! I never buy really nice stuff aside from a few suits -- but I donated them all to Good Will [NOT Salvation Army!].

I get rid of things once they get to big. I either donate them or give them to someone who can wear them. I have lots of too small clothes hanging around waiting for me to get into. I shop at the second hand stores alot, I refuse to buy anything to much til I am smaller.

Well, I dont have any clothes to offer. (I am way too new on the diet). But if you are selling 26/28 clothes I would be interested.!
