I haven't heard of this, I looked it up and it looks interesting. I didn't see any prices - is it expensive?

I was wondering if the Katami bar is an efective workout. Does it make you sweat, and do you feel it the next day? I workout alot, so I love a challenge!
Thanks a bunch!!!

I saw something very similar to this today at Target. It is a Sculpting Bar by The Firm. It is a bar and 3 videos. The bar is 8 pounds and unscrews into a 4 pound bar, and 2-2 pound weights. The 2 pounders are for warm ups, and the 4 pound is for something - maybe abs, and then you screw them together for an 8 pound bar for lower body. It was 39.95 for all of it.

Question

I just saw the advertisement for the katami bar for the first time today. It looks like fun and seems like a good workout. I would be interested in knowing if you all like it that have tried it, and if you are sticking with it. Alice you were so enthused in April, are you still?

http://www.katamibar.com/order.php

I got the full system (7 DVD's, 2 bars, stability ball & pump) in January and have been addicted ever since. The workouts are only 35 mins long and got me back into morning exercise. The stability ball workout is the only one that is longer - 1 hour - and I do that one on my days off.

This guy is good. His emphasis is on doing a few reps correctly rather than execising forever while cheating your body of the rewards due to improper form. After doing his workout I definately feel my stomach muscles (upper, lower and obliques) all day long and I love it. I'm accustomed to doing step aerobics for 45 minutes until i'm sucking wind so sometimes I do the aerobic part of his workouts twice (just in case).

All in all, great system that got me back into regular workouts!

Default Definitely gets your blood pumping

I bought the Katami Bar based on this thread. I'm sure it works, but it took me a while to be able to do the exercises cause I just wanted to watch the instructor. That guy is hot!

I think the Katami Bar workouts will get more popular very soon. I read in Fitness Magazine that gyms across the country are now offering Kardio Katami classes.

Wow, I just looked at the site and it looks like the price has gone up by $50 since Alice posted about it last year.

I've not done the video, but it looks like you need 'that' bar. I'm not sure if you can twist all the moves on a straight bar or not. I'm not sure it will be on collagevideo because I think they only sell it direct. I might be wrong, though! You can see clips on the Katami website. http://www.katamibar.com/order.php
