Default Difference between Phase 2 and 3 in the book

Hi Everyone! I'm new to SB and I am on day 2 of Phase 1. I was reading the book and looking at the Phase 3 recipes and I don't see why I can have some of those recipes in Phase 2. For example, Lime-Baked Fish. The ingredients are fish, lime juice, tarragon and green onions. What makes this Phase 3? Why isn't this recipe shown in the Phase 2 or even Phase 1 section? What is Phase 3? I just want to make sure that when I hit Phase 2 that I am eating correctly.

Also, can I have sour cream? Is that a Phase 2 dairy?

Thanks so much for your help!

Welcome, Doodleday!
The big difference between Phases II and III is the amount of carbs that you're eating. Not the type. So if you have the Lime-Baked Fish on Phase two, be aware of the lime juice, and skip your apple that day.
You can have sour cream, but go for the low fat variety.
Good luck!

Thank you for the response.

So, would the SB Good Fats/Good Carbs book help me figure out which foods are higher in carbs? Is there a number of carbs am I supposed to stay below each day? I didn't pick up on that in the book.

Yippie! I can have sour cream!!!! I promise to keep it low-fat!

You're welcome.
You're actually not SUPPOSED to count anything... that's the beauty of the program. There isn't a "set limit", but if you want a carb counter, here are a few links.

I agree with Doodleday, I find the recipe categorizations in the book confusing. My understanding on lemon and lime juice was that becauce the acid was so high, it was OK even on phase I. In fact, there are other recipes in Phase I that have lemon juice or balsamic vinegar, so <shrug>. If I saw a recipe in Phase II that seemed perfectly legit to me in Phase I, I went ahead. The revised food list may also have had something to do with the inconsistencies since now tomatoes are unlimited, and milk is allowed in Phase I.
