Default Weighing Frequency

I am new here and I was wondering how often most of you weigh yourselves. I see the appeal of once a week--it gives your body time to adjust and you are not as aware of the ups and downs during the week. On the other hand, if you weigh more often, you are better able to see where you've gone wrong.

Any thoughts?

Thanks, Elisabeth

I'm really bad, I weigh everyday, my husband threatens to hide the scale from me, I 'm so bad that I went on a business trip and took the scale with me now that crazy Good luck on SBD, I love it, it is really easy, I have 17 pounds to go to get to my first goal and 10 more to reach my second goal.

I weigh daily and know it goes up and down during a week. The best thing to do is either average the daily weights OR - horrors! - put the scale away and weigh monthly!

Thanks for the input. I like the idea of seeing progress as it happens--it keeps me motivated, but I don't like not seeing the scale move--or, God forbid--it going up. I think perhaps every other day might be a place to start.

Personally--I weigh myself each day. But I only log my weight into my journal on Saturday. That way I can keep control of the situation. I am still terrified that the weight will creep back on during the middle of the night LOL.

That sounds like a great idea. Logging it once a week but checking it more frequently. I think I'll give that a try! Thanks, Elisabeth

I don't even own a scale. For some of us, weighing daily can become obsessive, and little things like having a couple fewer glasses of water can affect daily weight. I weigh in once a week at Curves.

I weigh maybe every other day, in the morning. I hate doing it that frequently, but it just happens. I've only been on SBD for 4 weeks, and my weighing hasn't discouraged me yet.

If anything, it helps. Like, if I have a bad day, and think I've really screwed myself up, I can't explain how much of a relief it is to weigh myself and not see a difference, or see a very slight one as a result of my slip up. I feel like it helps me maintain.

Then again, I'm a little weird.
