Default Feisty & Sexy 50- 60 yr olds NEW #3

Morning All!

Ann: Your cruise sounds like so much fun. I can understand why you dont want to eat dinner with all the people from the park. Its time to meet some new one. Im sure most the others feel the same way. No havent found out about Bat Bird. They would like a picture. And he hasnt been back yet.

Peggy: Oh wow that quilt is very nice! Do they take forever to make?

Karen: Wow Im so glad your DIL stood up to her mother. Those things are so hurtful and last with children forever. Just to bad something wasnt said before to her. Maybe she would of never said that to her Daughther.

Been really carzy at work this week so had to get here early.
Proves to be anothe one of those days

Hi all: Our Mens' appreciation lunch was a success. They all liked the food and they especially liked the entertainment. A sexy young thing who did vocal impressions. She started out with Marilyn Monroe, and the eyes began to pop! They sure paid attention. We lady workers had a good laugh or two watching the men. The remark was made, that we hoped no one had a problem with their blood pressure going too high, when she came around and gave them a pat or a kiss on the cheek.

Lily: Would you have any solution to why sometimes when I am playing Spider Solitaire, suddendly the screen goes black the computer shuts down and then reboots itself? then of course it has to scan, since it is an improper shut-down. We have a service contract, and i called them and the tech walked me through deleting a lot of stuff and said that should work, but last night it did it again. I just haven't had time to call them again, but I will. I just sort of feel at their mercy, as I'm not really computer literate at all.

I sure agree with you all about the damage done to children by harsh words or negative words. That old adage about 'sticks and stones may hur my bones but words will never hurt me' is very untrue. Words can last a lifetime. I know my two daughters have struggled for years with things their Father said to them. And I've always felt sorry that I couldn't have done more to undo the damage.

I have finally come to the place where if I want to go in the pool or the beach, I go, and I don't much care what others think. I am the way I am, and there is not much I can do about it, that I haven't already done. So I find the bathing suit that seems to be the most flattering for my pear shape, and then just go and enjoy.

Haave a great rest of the day, and I'll 'see' you later. Ann

G'day all,

Firstly I just noticed the 'new' smilies, I cannot quite work out what they are supposed to be, we have had christmas, St. Patrick's day is still a way off, are they just fun or do they represent an event , whatever they look cute.

Some of you may remember that I have posted in the past (a long time ago) that the most life changing thing for my dh and I were when we did a live-in seminar run by the Pacific Institute. It basically was a self awareness course which was for 5 days. It was run by an American and the course was designed by Lou Tice, another American. There were mainly men and all were very sceptical as to what this 'yank' was going to tell us Aussies that we didn't already know! After the first few hours we were all converted.
The course was very expensive and all the managers in our company had to attend. The outcomes were so successful that our company wanted to give everyone the benefit of this program and some of us were trained as facilitators to deliver this program. I was lucky enough to be asked to become a facilitator. Unfortunately shortly after we completed the facilitators course there was a restructure and a tightening of the belt and the course to be delivered to all staff was scrapped
DH and I are forever grateful for doing this course, it was truly life changing.
Here is a web site with some of Lou Tice's philosophies that you may find of interest.
http://www.chiro.org/LINKS/tice.shtml

Ann how frustrating with your computer I hope Lily can give you some suggestions. Her recent advice and the suggested software is excellent. There are so many reasons as why computer problems happen that it does become very frustrating.
I had a picture in my mind of the 'Men's appreciation' lunch and it made me smile. Your cruise sounds just glorious.

Have a great day all, do yourself a favour and visit the above suggested website.........

Cheers
Maria

Default Hi everyone

Lily I deleted 27 items... what an eye opener that was. Thanks for helping us.
Maria I don't know what this little guy represents either, but I have to agree he is cute.
Ann I could just imagine the men "appreciating" the young sexy thing. The cruise sounds so relaxing.

I am kind of grouchy tonight After a good nights sleep I felt rather good this morning, thought my cold was getting better. I did a light workout at the gym and was so tired after lunch I had a short nap. I woke up with such a sore throat. I am coughing and have another headache... not a happy camper at all. My DH got over his cold quite quickly.

I am going to call it a day... see you tomorrow.

Ann: Im so sorry but this is not something I know. Its when I call DH in and say fix it. And he is worthless unless he looks at it. But the only thing I can think of is Programs will create alot of Temp files. Yours must be putting them somewhere. Im sure thats what your Computer guys had you delete. So there must be something else wrong. Do you ever run DeFRAG?
Go to Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Disk Defragmenter. Click on Defragment. And walk away It will take time. All programs must be shut down or it doesnt do it properly. Could be some place else as I dont know what background you are running on. Win98, etc. But this is something someone needs to see in order to fix.

MAria: Will spend some time at that site looking around. I remember you talking about it and how happy you were going to the seminar. Sorry that it turned out that you cant deliver the course. Maybe there is another way?

Trudy: This cold of yours seems to be hanging on forever. You need to get better. Hawaii is around the corner.
Glad I could help with the program. and you got it working

These little guys are cute. Wonder what they are?

Default Cold again today! BRRRR

Good Morning, All

...and the weather man said we would be having a January thaw! I don't think so.

For you crafters/quilters, I'm almost finished quilting my next quilt. Just have to bind it and it will be ready to use. I have the fabric "in the wings" for my next project.

Peggy, do you sell your crafts at craft sales? Is it a long, drawn out process? Ann, do you sell your crafts? Just in case my sister and I ever get anything going. She is a GREAT calligrapher, but the hardest thing is convincing her of her talent.

Lily, do you work outside the home other than WW? I noticed things were hectic at work in your post; just curious. I don't think I got the new smilies???

Ann, what's spider solitaire? Should I have it on my computer?

Maria, I'll visit the Tice web site after writing.

Trudy, get over that cold! They're more annoying and inconvenient than anything. Naps are good!

See ya later.

Marnie

Hi Everybody

I found this web site that has a webcam on Kaanapali Beach, Maui, which is mine and Trudy's beach. Every day I go and take a peek and see how "our beach" is looking and what the weather is like.
http://www.tiki.net/~rw/video/video.html

My grandchildren mark the days off on the calendar to keep track as to how many more "sleeps" until they leave for Disneyworld and I go and look at Kaanapali Beach.

Maria I went and read all the wonderful tidbits on the Lou Tice's web site.
Sounds like good common sense to me. I like that.
Ann I hope you got your computer problems figured out. Your cruise sounds like it would be a lot of fun. You'll have lots to tell us when you get back.
At tea time on Tuesday Trudy gave me a tiny little gold dophin charm to hook on my bracelet or on my gold anklet. She is so sweet and thoughtful. I'm to have her as a friend.
Bye for now....talk to you all later.

G'day all,

I had my annual check up with my cancer specialist and all is well.

It is amazing that one just never knows where the next opportunity presents itself. I told my doctor that I had set up my own business. He was very interested as to what I do, it is a bit of a hobby of his as well but of course he does not have the time. He asked if I did PowerPoint Presentations, he has done one for an upcoming conference but it needs a bit of polishing...so I am happy to do it for him.
The receptionists asked if I could leave some of my business cards because they were also very interested.

Big changes afoot (again) at dh's work. We will have to work out a few things at the weekend what our next move will be.
As soon as I know more, you will be the first ones to know

Slavika isn't it incredible how you can check up on the weather in Hawaii and actually SEE the place live. You are lucky having a friend like Trudy but I suspect she will tell us she is lucky to have YOU as a friend.

Trudy what is up with you getting another cold I hope your sore throat does not develop into something more. Take care.

Lily yes I am the same, I also call on my 'helpdesk' in the form of dh. We are lucky that we have husbands who have skills that compliment ours.
Ann I also 'defragment' my computer about every week or so, it is well worth doing but yet another thing that if you don't know about it...........

Marnie you are a bit of a whiz at the completion of your quilts, wow!
I am sure you enjoyed the Lou Tice website.

I am off for a bit of a drive with my dd, it has been lovely just the 2 of us these past few days.

Cheers
Maria

Hi,

I defrag every week too. Lily I've been using Ad Aware or whatever it's called. It was amazing the first time I used it all the stuff that was on there.

Marnie I have done craft shows. Next year I am trying a new one on the other side of town. I have also put things in a craft mall. I had fun with it but the rent was just too high for the space. It was a Coomer's and my friend and I paid $95 a month. It was fine from fall til Christmas but the rest of the year was slow. You were also only supposed to have hand made things and lot of the crafters were passing off manufactured things as handmade. Plus there was some thievery. It takes a while to find just the right craft show and it gets old carrying your things in and out and putting up your displays.

Slavika I looked at the Hawaii site. Wish I was there now. You 2 will have such a good time.

Maria do you have a clue where you might go next? It's like putting your hand in a jar seeing what you pull. I remember you telling us about the Lou Tice site before. I am going to look at it later when I can take some time. How neat to have a new client in your dr. Glad your checkup was good.

Ann I bet the guys bp was up a little when Marilyn was doing her thing. That's funny.

Going to a friends house tonight. We are watching an old Cher concert someone has on tape. It's chick flick night.

Got lots of dumb things to do today.

Marnie: Yes I do work outside of WW. I do Web work for a Telephone Company amoung other things. Are you going to sell your quilts? Wish I was crafty like that.

Slavika: Loved looking at your beach. It is a pretty beach. We spent some time there. You and Trudy are gonna have some much fun! Im jealous

Maria: Congrats on the clean bill of health. Super that you might pick up some more business to. Thats they way to do it by just mentioning it.
Off again??????? Sure seems like the wait until the last minute to tell you. Yes I gotta love my "Helpdesk" Cept for when he try's to show me something. Then he is annoying. Most geek boys are like that

Peggy: Yes it is amazing what that program finds the first time.
Have fun at your Girls night. You always have so much fun at those

Later!

Talking some cute jokes

Hi everyone.
I didn't turn my pc on yesterday, so today I had a lot of e-mail to go through. My DD and niece sent me some really cute things so I passed them on to all of you. Hope you like them. I noticed we haven't heard from Glenda or Geri...
Lily do not be jealous, if you saw all the snow that has been falling this week, you would be happy we can get away for a short time. 4 more inches today... and there is some talk of rain too. We have had daught conditions for a few years, something tells me we won't have that problem this year.
Maria this is the same cold I had when you had yours. I still sound and look awful. I think it is time someone discovered a cure for the common cold. I liked the Lou Tice site, good common sense.
Good news Slavika I can do laundry again. It is a temporary hook-up, need some walls yet, but I am not complaining. Don't know what I would have done without you. We should mark off the "sleeps" we have left too. The web camera's you found are just great. It is all very exciting.
Marnie It doesn't take you long to do a quilt. You really must be good at it. I liked the hanky quilt. Are you going to make that one too?

Now I have to think of something for din dins..

G'day all,

Overcast morning here in more ways than one. I am off to the doctors this morning, yet another urinary tract infection It has been coming on for a week or so but thought I could fix it with over the counter stuff but this morning it is bad!
DH is coming home this morning and dd stayed the night at a girlfriends and is coming home again this morning as well, I timed it pretty well to feel now that I HAVE to see a doctor.
Once on antibiotics I will be right again

We have a lot to talk about, dh's boss has been moved sideways and the position has been called for. It means moving to Sydney
Financially it would be very much worth our while but we now have to work out a plan of attack what we will do with our house, where we would live in Sydney etc. etc. and then decide if dh will put his hand up to be considered for the position.
I have been thinking about it a lot this week and sort of adjusted to the thought but I definetly will not be sorry if it was NOT to eventuate.
I guess my life is never boring, there always seems to be some bombshell just around the corner.

Peggy you 'chick flick' night sounds fun! Your experience with craft shows was interesting to read. I know of ladies who do similar things here and their experiences are very similar. Customers want everything for nothing, because it is home made they have this perception that you don't need to make much of a profit if any because it is a hobby. Weird people out there.

Lily your dh just sounds like mine when he tries to explain something about computers to me, mine is extremely annoying and invariable we end up having an argument! We both know what we are like, so at least it is not as though we end up not speaking for days.......just for an hour or so

Have a great weekend all, might 'see' you tomorrow,

Cheers
Maria

There we go again, great minds and all that.......both of us posting at the same time Trudy. Sounds strange to tell someone you are pleased that they can do their laundry again but you know what I mean. It is great to have friends but it is nice to be independant.
Have I missed something somewhere, are you also going to Hawaii??????
If that is the case poor old Tom had better run for cover with both of you over there

Just a quickie: I am into last minute packing as we leave tomorrow morning. We are really looking forward to the trip and know we will have a good time. I'll have to do a lot of reading to catch up when we get back.

I do defrag regularly, so I know that isn't the problem. I will get back at it when we return. Spider solitaire is a fun game, that came with my computer. It is a bit more challenging than regular solitaire. I really like it.

Everyone keep well. Trudy- maybe this has been more than just a cold! Get well before your trip. Those emails you passed along were funny. We enjoyed them.

'See' you in a week. Ann

Default Brrr it's cold outside......

Hi Everybody well we have another really cold day today. Our grandson was going to play hockey today (outside) and it was so cold the game was cancelled. Usually his games are inside but every once in awhile they do get an outdoor game.
My DH got up before me this morning and told me, as I lay all cuddled up in my comforter, that my rabbit was outside looking for "something" to eat, and that all the seed was gone and he was just trying to find a seed here and there to eat, and was probably just starving.
Well.....that was the end of my little sleep in this morning. I got up and put on a housecoat, and rubber duck shoes, DH's jacket, and my hair standing straight up every which way and went outside with my bucket of bird seed/sunflower seeds and a big carrot for the bunny. He ran and hid under the pine tree when I came out with the food, but by the time I came back into the house he was happily munching on his carrot. My DH thinks that the neighbours take pictures of me when I go out like that, and one of these days I will find myself on the front page of the supermarket tabloids.
Ann have a wonderful holiday...and enjoy all the wonderful food they serve on these cruises (but just a little of this and a little of that)
Maria that was great news you got from your cancer specialist. I'm happy for you.
Peggy and Lily aren't those webcams amazing. I think it's just super that with a simple click of the mouse I get to see what kind of weather my friends are enjoying on Kaanapali Beach. I am so happy that I have a computer.
DH and I are going to a friend's place for dinner this evening so I don't have to cook din dins tonight. YIPPEE!
My friend is a really great cook too.
We saw Trudy and DH this morning at Costco. Trudy's cold is still handing on but she did see her doctor last week, and it is "just" a cold. I think mostly it's her cough that is driving her crazy and keeping her from getting a good night's rest. My poor friend!
Bye for now everybody.

Thought I'd chime in here. Don't get here as much as I used to. Don't have a clue as to why?

Today was GS birthday he turned eight. I made the cake, it was a double chocolate-chocolate cake.(his favorite) It had devil 's food cake along with chocolate pudding 4 eggs and lemon- lime soda and oil. He wanted a race track cake so What is what he got . A cake with a race track and race cars on it. It was cute. He liked it. DD had the party in Brainerd at the bowling ally. The kids had a great time and all the mess stayed there

When we left Brainerd it was blizzarding out there. But by the time we got out side the city limits there was no snow. So all we had to contend with on the drive home was the wind and it was Was glad when we were in the house to stay. All I could think of was I hate this cold

Have been on a eating frenzy but still counting points right now I am into next weeks flex points I made a lemon pie that was 3 points for a piece. It is wonderful I think I'm just trying to get warm and if I eat enough I'll warm up

Slavika will have to check out the web cam when it is day time I want to see the sun. I was there and saw the temp. was 73. I could live with that. We have been talking about a short trip to Vegas just to get out of the cold for a day or two we'll see.

Trudy Have you tried some cough syrup like Vicks Formula 44D. The cough sounds like it must be bronchus that kind of a cough hangs on forever. The thing I have to do at night is make sure my arms stay covered up and sleep on my side. Sometime I have to sleep in a recliner, but at least I sleep. We need to get you well so you'll enjoy your trip!!

Maria on the road again maybe. I don't envey you a bit with all this uncertainty. But a least there is never a dull moment in your life. Sorry about the infection hope your better now.

Well guess I'll get off now and leave you ladies in peace. I've yabbered on enough. Have a great day tomorrow.
