The Good Carb Cookbook
Has anyone else bought the "THE GOOD CARB COOKBOOK, Secrets of Eating Low on the Glycemic Index" by Sandra Woodruff, M.S., R.D.?
It is very interesting reading about the Glycemic Index (even described how they determine the GI numbers for foods), how to balance the different foods (protein, good carbs, etc), "Dining Defensively in Restaurants", how to lower the GI numbers in recipes, gives a lot of other valuable information that would make it a good companion book to SBD, plus a lot of good looking recipes.
The SBD has been a real breakthrough for me as I have lost 15 pounds since August 15th and am still losing about a pound a week (slow but steady and I am eating so well) and I don't have the racing heart beat after eating like I used to (sugar rush from the high glyciemic, low fat and supposedly healthy carbs I was eating).
It all make sense to me now after reading SBD and the GOOD CARB book as to why I wasn't losing weight on my diet and I had a large belly that I couldn't get rid of no matter how much I exercised and ate "good food and fruits and vegies".
I recommend this book for extra information and as a companion to the SBD book. Let me know what you think.
