Default Weekend Chat - November 8 and 9

There's a small fire in the woodstove this morning because it's very chilly in the back room. However, take your coffee or tea in there and cuddle up with a sleepy dog or two. They got me up before 4 and are now back asleep. Ya gotta love 'em!

Sflake, I'm glad you are feeling better and hope yesterday went well. I flunked treadmill at the heart specialist once. What a loser! I keep having talks with myself too. Now I need to listen.

Sil, thanks for the short book review. I am going to order that book because I need some better reading these days. I wonder who my five people will be.

Oh Deets! The Indiana people are sooooo sophisticated. Only the Upper Crust in Delta refer to the Dump as the landfill! Actually that is what the sign says. Shall we exchange pictures?

Rowan, I am sure the artistic temprament has a lot to do with your bumpy relationship. I hope things smooth out quickly for you because stress is such a waste of energy.

The nurse practitioner was shocked at my feet! She is young and new and does not come across as at all confident. She thinks it's not eczema! I've had eczema since before she was born but didn't argue. I have yet another kind of cream and she told me not to soak in the tub as it may be a fungus infection. Oh joy!

More coffee and breakfast needed. I'll catch up later.

Morning all!

Well, Ruth and I are up enjoying the Midnight Sun!

Coffee isn't on as I don't indulge in it. Smells divine, but can't stand the taste!!

Mom has chosen to stay home once again. I wish she had some confidence, but once your mettle is rattled, it is hard to break the chain.

I wish that the doctor had NEVER told her that she has arthiritis in her knees. The mind is a strong factor in what you believe and how you cope with it.

All I can do is love her.

Isn't this what we all need? Someone to care, listen and keep quiet.

We all need a sounding board from time to time.

I think this is what friendship is all about. Not judging, listening, hugging and caring.

When asked, be honest.

As in dieting, people tend to be enablers and then being people pleasers we do as told or suggested.

One day we all will have and USE the word NO on a regular basis.

I know I am rambling, but I want you all to know that I am PROUD of you. Whether you are OP or not, whether you slip or falter. You are making the effort and this is the BIGGEST step that you can make.

Off soon to do errands, buy OP foods and others, and get some NEW pajama's since mine are falling off.......DH loves the look!!

Have a great weekend.

Marcie

Good Morning Ladies...
I feel asleep so early last night that I have been up since 5am!!

Ruth, I looked at the pictures on the Beach Bingo site, my gosh, I want to move by you and Harry....I felt like I was looking at God's country, what an amazing place. When I retire, I want to open a Bed and Breakfast, and in my mind, where you live is exactly the essence of what I have dreamed!! BTW--give the young gal a chance, you may have excema and a fungus ....you never know!!! Feel better

Marcie, you are an amazing woman, it was so nice to get that little Marci love, especially since you have retired your daily inspirations...it is lovely to hear it from you when you are inspired. Sending wishes to you and your Mom...good luck looking for the jammies!!!

My guy broke the code and called me yesterday, it was a pleasant conversation and he really wanted me to know that he has feelings here.. I am looking forward to a realxing productive weekend.....hoping the same for every other beach lovely here--you are all such awesome women!!

Sil, your pictures are great, love the backyard and the kitty...

rb

Happy Weekend, everyone!

I'm ducking in to say "HI" and give all wishes for a wonderful, relaxing weekend. My DH got ill yesterday....sore throat, fever. and cough. Needless to say, we didn't get to the Shrine for dinner and dance last night as planned. But that can come another time. My focus right now is tending to him and getting him better. Since he also lost most of his voice, I gave him a little bell so he could let me know when he needed something. That may have been a mistake, since he's ringing the out of the thing! Men are such babies when they're a bit ill!

Ruth....Thanks for the warmth of the fire, and the hot cup of coffee. I needed that break. I hope your footsies inprove with the new cream. Take good care of yourself!
Marcie.....You are so right about friendship. What insightful words. Thanks for popping in today . I know we all miss you. Sending your mom blessings.
Rowan....May you have a relaxing weekend, and may your relationship become less stressful as time passes. Sending you good thoughts

Gotta go......my bell is ringing!
Hugs to all who check in later!

Ooooooh, man. One of the perks of getting up early is that ... oh, never mind!
How nice to see all of you.

Ruth, this cold is unbearable. I don't know how the heck I'm going to make it through the winter.
Ignore that nurse. She doesn't know what she's talking about. I'll make you some lavender ointment...

Marcie, you don't like coffee!? My dear, you MUST taste mine!

Rowan, how sweet that your guy called. Keep your cool, though. Have a lovely weekend.

Sflake, you haven't said one word about yourself. How are you, lovie?

Sharon, I'm sorry you missed your outing last night. And sorry that your DH is ill. NEVER give a man a bell. Take the clapper out!

We were just out picking up DS from a birthday party, and there was a woman (on Bank Street, Ruth and Mauvais) walking in and out of the traffic with no top on. Nothing. And I MISSED IT! DH gave me full details. She must have been high. A cop car came and picked her up. Man, I was freezing in my car with my coat on!!

love to all...

Crikey, Ellis. Not even pasties or a metal bra? It's nice to know there still are nutcases on Bank Street. Poor woman.

I worked outside for an hour or so this afternoon putting away pots and it was perishing cold. The good news is my feet didn't hurt because they were frassing frozen! I hope I warm up before it's time to do the eclipse thing. I have a Shepherd's Pie and cole slaw ready to go afterwards - WASP soul food! I made the S. Pie with sweet potatoes and green beans so my Irish Grandma Veronica is turning in her grave.

Deets, I hope your DH gets better fast. Take away the darn bell.

Have to feed the dogs before they kill and eat each other!

Hello!

It's been a trying couple of days. Thurs, passed my test with 100% on both tests, was in a really good mood until we got my dbf's dot and she was a real stinker, her attitude was horrible, I stayed out of it, but told DBF I was sick of her Thurs night coniption fits.

Then yesterday had dbf's son while he was out running errands, no biggie. Get this phone call, dbf ran out of gas. He had not bothered to fill his tank all week! And he has long work commutes. So I go get him some gas, darn van still would not start. I thought he screwed it up, well turns out that the 1 gas can was not gonna cut it, so I go and get more gas. Finally starts...but only after 1.5 hours of being stuck on the side of the road, and 3 trips to the gas station. Grrr....

I was so hungry I almost strayed but I was good and had a salad when I got home.

Last night thought we'd spoil dbf's kids and took them to Blockbuster to pick out their own video. They were horrible after that, both kids needed a good swat on the butt, but I stayed out of it (again)

this morning comes around and DBF was in bed, kids going at it again their attitudes needed a serious adjustment. I lit into them like a Roman Candle, I had just had it. I really have not had any problems since except now I have all 4 kids as my kids came back from their dad's today after I got out of swim class.

Now they are outside and playing and I am trying not to get an ulcer. LOL.

Other than that, sounds like everyone has had some interesting adventures.

I hear a kid screaming........ahhhhhhhhh Chat later!

Hi gang just poped in to say Hello. It has been a busy week-end so far. I worked on my dances for my 4 and 5 year olds all day yesterday, and danced 3 hours this morning and I am sore. Well I must go and get caught up everywhere. I will chat again tomorrow. Good night all.

Evenin ladies! It's been a rough couple of weeks. But guess what? Tomorrow my hubby flies in! My brother and I are going to pick him up from the airport and then we're going to a friend of my father's for supper. He's having lasagna and home made bread. I know! I know! But I have some more news... I lost 10 lbs since I've been down here in FL. I think it's all the stress. I just can't seem to get an appetite and the clothes I wore down here are already baggy. I went out and bought some new shirts and a pair of jeans! I haven't worn jeans that zipped up in like a gazillion years...and ya know what....there a size 12!!!

Guess that's it fer now...talk with y'all laters!

Talking Hey there all you darling cuties!

Up with Dh getting him ready for work.

Have a new crock pot recipe in the making thanks to our very own Diane.

Laundry is swirling around in the machine and I am here chatting with you.

Round and round we go.
Some days we act like we are going around in circles.
We seem lost, frustrated and feel Ho Hum.

We feel as if this battle has no end.
The ugly part of our thinking is rearing its head and winning.

Then we come here and someone says something positive, gives us encouragement or tells us that we were missed.

We get inspired to try again.
We put pen to paper, fingers to keys and write.

We write about our day. We write about our woes. We write about our fears.

We gain insight into ourselves. We see how we alloweed the ugly thoughts into our lives. We rededicate ourselves to getting back on the horse and taking the rein.

Best of all we forgive ourselves and understand that we will not always walk the straight and narrow, but will go around and around.

Coffee, no thank you. I will have some good ol water, cool, clear Mountain water. So, I will pass on your coffee, BUT I will be by for a tall glass of water.

Going to clean house today. Get a jump on tomorrow.

Being alone in the house at 3:30 on Sunday's gives me plenty of time to do cleaning and reading AND writing to ALL of you.

Have a great day and remember you can go round and round without getting dizzy.

Shhhh! I weiged this morning and I am down another pound! WHEE!

TATA.

Good morning. Darn dogs got me up at 4:45 again. Lucy claims she is starving - a nice change from when she was Miss Picky Eater!

Cold again but clear. I guess this is winter now because the ground has frozen. I did some outdoor work yesterday but nearly died of the cold despite wearing my winter barn coat! We were able to sit on the deck for a while to watch the eclipse but saw most of it from indoors.

I feel as if I'm getting a cold so am going to take a pill and a hot bath and head it off at the pass! I'll decide about Church after that.

Have a cozy Sunday, Beauties.

I am new here. Starting Phase 2 and doing well. Lost 5 lbs on Phase 1.
STart weight was 168. Lost 3 llbs before SBD. Then lost 5 lbs on phase one. Down to 160. Goal is 125.
I am 5' 2", 42 years old. Married with 2 girls ages 12 and 9.

I lost all this weight once almost 2 1/2 years ago and let it slowly creep back on. I have to get it off, for good this time.

Anxious for lots of support. Susi
