Default New to SBD!

Hi. My name is Angela and I just bought the SBD book. I've read all the stuff in it already and it sounds very similar to Atkins and the LA Weight Loss Diet. My problem is this - it sounds like there is alot of stuff in there that I don't like. I don't like to make elaborate meals, the stuff you need to buy is expensive and I don't like any kind of fish. So, what am I supposed to eat? Eggs are okay, but I can only eat them for so often before I start to feel sick of them. Are Lean Cuisine's okay for this plan?

Sorry if I seem negative. I'm just tired of being fat but too lazy to do anything real about it. I need help!

Lean Cuisine's are not ok.... and we are all tired of being fat... but if we are tired enough then we will make the effort and the committment to change that. You do not have to follow the recipes in the book or the menus either.. you can look at the "foods to enjoy" list and make your own menus using those foods. You can make it as simple or as elaborate as you please. I prefer the more simple foods too.. There are so many choices I can't see why it would be difficult..

The book is a guide.

Remember to incorporate Good carbs, protein and veggies.
Salads are great.

You also can have 75 calories from SF items.

Eat snacks.

At first I thought this is $$$$, but if health and weight loss is my reward....aren't you worth it??

Check out the recipes here and the Q&A section.

Post often and continue to ask questions.

Keep a food/feeling journal and good luck.

I don't know which version of the book you have but the newest food list for Phase I is in the Frequently Asked Questions section of this Forum. There is lots of other meat besides fish. (I am NOT a fish person either although I do eat tuna salad sometimes.)
Keep your meals very simple for the first two weeks and you will be fine.
Be sure to keep posting, even if it's just a "Hi There" on the Just Chat daily.

Sweetie, are you really ready to lose weight? Take care of yourself and maybe learn to make some simple dishes and eat some new foods. I was a very picky eater until I decided enough is enough - 200 pounds lost later, I eat just about anything but I like simple dishes during the week and will experiment on the weekend. This is really an easy program to follow. Get on your suit and join us at the beach!

You can start with simple meals. On Phase One, I ate LOTS of salads, and usually had sauteed chicken on my salads or with veggies for dinner. I also ate turkey and lean roast beef roll ups.

Like the others said, you will have to put some time in to prepare meals if you want to do this, but it isn't real time consuming. I will admit that many of the recipes in his book are time consuming, pricey and just not my style of food, but with a little creativity you can put together a lot of meals easily.

Have you read all of the book? The reason I ask is because of the Lean Cuisine question. There aren't any frozen dinners that I know of that are suitable for a low carb or low glycemic plan. Read the book thoroughly before you try the plan, it can make the difference of losing weight or gaining weight!
