Default But I don't like to cook . . .

Hi all - I am new to the board. I am very interested in starting the SBD, but I am a little worried about if I will stick with it because I have to prepare the recipies. I can cook, but after I get home I am usually to tired to cook. Is it important to prepare the foods as suggested in the menu's? Also, has anyone gotten the Online South Beach diet plan? I was considering this as it might help with the motivation factor. Thanks!
Kristi

You might want to try doing meals ahead and freezing them, like the meats and stuff. And then thawing out and preparing a quick veggie to go with. That eliminates temptations when you are tired.

I've heard the online plan is not worth the money, it's cheaper to buy tbe book and frequent this site.

You don't have to cook a thing. You can get veggies to heat up or eat them raw - salad comes ready to eat, just add dressing. Tuna in a can doesn't have to be cooked, chicken can be bough already cooked and so on. Where does it say you have to make 1 single recipe? Just take your food list to the grocery store and take a good look around - its all there and ready to eat.

Default thanks!

Thanks for the replies. I started the diet last Thursday and have stuck with it for 5 days now! I guess I don't really have to cook that much at all - I guess when I saw all the recipies, spices, and veggies I have never even eaten, it scared me a bit. But I have been doing just fine. I guess the biggest part of all is what you don't eat! Once I had that down, it was all easier.

Great diet! I have already turned down popcorn at the movies (a BIG weakness of mine), and I ate my ceaser salad and jello for lunch instead of the pizza they brought in for the office. It really didn't bother me at all. It was probably because of the fulfilling omelet I had for breakfast! I am very please, can't wait to weigh myself in a few days and see the results so far. I can already tell by my clothes that I am slightly more comfortable. How often are you supposed to weigh in - I was assuming once a week.

Thanks again for the support!

Kristi
