Default daily dish --fresh eggs

Thought this one was interesting...
Testing Eggs for Freshness

Since the South Beach Diet allows for as many eggs as you care to eat, it’s not likely that they’ll be sitting around for long. However, if you come across some old eggs in your refrigerator and you want to know if they’re still fresh enough to eat, here’s a way to tell: Place an egg at the bottom of a glass full of water. Eggshells are porous, and over time they dry out, letting air in and moisture out. So...

If the egg lies at the bottom on its side, the egg is pretty fresh.

If the egg sinks, but with one end up, it’s getting old but is still edible.

If the egg floats at all, it’s time to go buy some fresh ones.

If you are someone who prefers egg whites, then save some time and money by buying eggs in bulk and separating them right away. Egg whites freeze very well and can even be kept up to three or four days covered in the refrigerator.

With all the fast flights, now you can get most any veggie any time of the year. Especially here in Fl, as we get a lot of stuff from Mexico, Chile, and other South American countries in the winter. Fruit too. I can remember the day when there was a season for strawberries, for example, but now we get them all the time. It was like winter veggies and summer veggies. I suppose that is still true in some of the more remote part of the U.S. Lizzie

Um....and in Canada too. We get asparagus from Peru and other places but it is very expensive and Lord knows what chemicals are used on them. Plus they are expensive.
So....let's all move down to Lizzie's place for the winter.
