50 big ones! Good work Sherry!
When I hit the 50lb loss mark, I felt it was such a big deal that I decided to do something somewhat silly to mark the occasion, but it really did bring home to me what I'd accomplished.
I went to the grocery store and headed over to the dairy department with my cart. I stopped at the butter section (after all, butter is all fat) and very slowly placed 50lbs of butter in my cart, stopping from time to time to look at the growing mound. When I reached 50lbs of butter I stepped back and let it sink in how much fat I'd gotten off my body. It was very enlightening. Even though we can tell we've lost weight by looking in the mirror, it wasn't until I stared at that massive mound in the cart that I realized what 50lbs of fat actually looked like. Anyway, then the spell was over and I had to put all the butter back and I high-tailed it out of there before someone made a call for the men with the strait-jacket (at least I had the sense to choose a store outside of my neighbourhood)
