Hello everyone. Long time stalker, first time posting in more than a decade. Warning, long post incoming, in which you will learn way too much about me!

I joined clear back in 2005, and over the next 2 years, got down to 190, my lowest in my adult life, but then fell off the wagon. I didn't regain quickly, but did regain, plus more. By 2011, I was up around 250, where I hovered until last year. For some reason, I gained about 20 pounds this last year, until I hit an absolute highest ever of 267.4. That day, I decided it was time that I had to focus on me and get this weight off once and for all.

I started on March 18th, and as of this morning, I'm down 20.2 pounds in around 10 weeks, so I've done decently so far. I've been limiting my portions and cut out all my "bored" snacking, as well as building up to walking about 4 miles a day. I've also started doing some water aerobics. I really prefer swimming laps, but haven't been able to find a reliable time with an empty lane at my gym lately.

I have both hypothyroidism and PCOS, so my losses in the past have always been EXCRUCIATINGLY slow. Last time I tried, I worked out at the gym an hour a day, 6 days a week, and only ate 1500 calories, and over a 10 month period, I lost 18 pounds and didn't go down any clothing sizes. Very frustrating. Now, however, I am on medication to help with those problems, and have found that I am losing at a much faster rate, of about 1.8 pounds a week on average. YAY!

Most I've ever lost was about 30 pounds, and that took years. This time, I need to lose about 120. I've never weighed under 190 since reaching maturity, so I'm not sure what my final weight even should be, but I'm going to say 150 for now and adjust when I get into that ballpark.

Anyway, I've been reading your challenge threads for the last few months and really feel like you guys are all awesome and would like to join in for the accountability.

So I'll post my official starting weight for the month on Thursday, but I've set my goal at 240, which is 7ish pounds.

Thanks Curvy for getting June's thread up and running

Welcome to the thread Lacerta. Way to go on your drop so far!

This month my goal is to continue with keto and drop my net carb goal to 20-25g instead of 25-30 to see if that helps with the rate of progress. Water goal is still 5L now 4L. This month marks my one year mark at 3FC, so a big thank you to all of you for being awesome and supportive

A big GOOD LUCK to everyone and may June be our best month yet!

Thank you for starting the new thread, Curvy!

I ended up hitting my goal of losing 8 lbs in May, so I'm going to stick with a similar goal for June...only this time, it will technically be 8.4 lbs, because that will put me squarely at 167 lbs, which is my lowest post-pubescent weight EVER. If I'm able to hit that number, I will be back to where I was when I lost some weight back when I was 16 years old! Needless to say, I'd be thrilled to see that number again, especially before I go back home next month on vacation! We will see if it's in the cards, lol.

Best of luck to everyone in June!

Ok, my May 31st starting weight is 246.6
Goal is 239.6, which will get me past the 10% lost milestone and into a new decade.

Looking back at my weight history, I lost 6.6 in April, and 9.4 in May (the other 4.8 was in the 2nd half of March, not a full month). So 7 pounds might be a low goal, but it gets me to a nice minigoal (10%) and also keeps me on track to be under 199 by the end of the year, which is my first major goal. If I do much better than that, I'll be thrilled and adjust accordingly, but for now, that is my first main goal.

I've never lost weight so quickly before, so setting larger goals is a new experience for me. Before I was on Metformin and Levothyroxine, a "good month" was a 2 pound loss. Most months were 1 pound.

Good luck to everyone this month!

Lucerta So happy you’re here! My sister is also on those medications and has experienced a big change. She was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s last year and it has been a struggle. Much respect to you on your journey!

My goal for this month is to make it to 200lbs. It may be a stretch, but I’m going to fight for it. I REALLY want to be 200 or under by my birthday in early July.

Hello June! May we all reach our monthly goals.

Last month I did not make my goal of getting into the 160s. May 1 weigh in was 175.8 lbs, and May 30 was 171.2, equaling a loss of 4.6 lbs. But the scale still went in the right direction, and I am noticing some good body recomposition (but haven't been measuring which I am going to start doing this month).

I'm going to be more conservative with my June weight goal and aim for a loss of 6 lbs. Along the way I will celebrate a mini-goal -- 169 lbs is when I go from obese to overweight.

I loved doing a fitness challenge in May to do 20 workouts over 20 days for at least 20 minutes that month so I'm going to do that again. It felt great to meet a fitness goal, and the 20 minutes was enough incentive a couple of times to just do the minimum rather than doing nothing, when I did not have time to do a full hour long workout. I have been refraining from weight lifting over the past few weeks because of an elbow injury, but am hoping that will heal soon and if so want to start lifting again at least 2x per week.

This month I am going to try to do better on my water goals. I just reduced my target daily water goal to reflect my weight loss which will hopefully make the water goal more attainable -- 8.5 cups a day instead of 9.5 cups. I'm not ready to make it a concrete goal, just a general principle, b/c I still am prioritizing diet and fitness.

Diet goals for June: Stay under 35g net carbs, hit my protein macros consistently, no carb cheats, be good about tracking, eat more carefully on my (short) trips.

June 1 is starting off nicely, my weigh in this AM was 170.6 lbs (0.6 loss from the May 30 weight). 169 I'm coming for you, hopefully in a few days.

Walked 4 miles yesterday and had a 1500+ calorie deficit, felt really good, but gained .4 today. I'm blaming the dozen or so pretzels I had. Only had them like 3 times in the last 10 weeks, and a dozen is only like 1/4 of a serving, but the sodium could have caused some water retention.

Today, I'm off to water aerobics and will walk 2 miles this evening (I usually walk 2 miles twice a day unless I do something else or it is thunderstorming).

Going to make sure I drink plenty of water today to flush out the extra sodium (but not pool water this morning, that would be bad).

TGIF everyone

Hi darlings! Woke up to a 1lb loss from yesterday. Not sure if that’s accurate or just my scale being kind (suspicious) but I’ll take it. It’s beautiful weather today and there’s a pound loss, so already I’m excited for June Have a lovely Friday everyone

Gulfmagnolia: You’re already one pound down and closer to your goal for this month, and it sounds like a great goal, you’ve got this!

Jazzfan22: You have some awesome goals set for this month and you are so close to such a great milestone (overweight vs obesity). Even with today’s weigh in you are very close, I know you can do this. KCKO

Lacerta: to not drinking the pool water Way to go on your workout yesterday and a solid plan for today!

I finally got what I hope is the beginning of a post-shark week woosh. I got 6L in yesterday (an extra liter for a lot of sweating, and repletion of lost electrolytes). I’m closer to completing the hallway project, but have to work tonight and tomorrow night, so finishing touches will have to wait until Sunday (but more likely Monday and Tuesday). Carb count yesterday came in at 24g total, 17g net According to MFP, if everyday is like yesterday I will weigh 257lbs in 5 weeks I love that feature of the app, but also hate it when it isn't accurate

The rest of today will be spent palying with doggo, prepping food for work the next two nights (zucchini noodle lasagna, garden salad, and cold cuts, hardboiled eggs & BabyBel for emergency snacks). I feel like I’m finally getting the hang of this whole keto thing; when I first started I had to pre-log every single thing and I’m getting better at knowing what foods work for me and logging as I go/improvising.

I hope you all have a fabulous Friday!

I lost 4.8lbs last month I was good about going to the gym. Okay on my water. And meh on eating (some days awesome and some not so much)
I seem to be having a lot going on and I'm finding counting calories have been hard so I signed up for WW online which seems to be working better for me. I also sign up of TOPS last night in town... which will help me stay motivated more so.

I'm going try real hard to keep up to date on here as well you guys are great. I did a quick look through of last month. Awesome job guys

Lacerta: Welcome! And, I'm having the same thing going on this past week...being on-plan - even moreso than usual - and pushing myself and seeing little bumps and stalls, in spite of it. All sorts of things can cause water retention, even the exercise itself sometimes, so just keep consistent, and I'm sure it will come off accordingly soon enough. Have fun at the water aerobic class! I want to try one of those this summer, lol.

gulfmagnolia: Nice loss! What day is your birthday in early July? My son's is the 3rd! Hope you're able to get to Onederland by the time it rolls around!

jazzfan22: I think I'm going to do monthly measurements again, too! I will go do them after I'm done posting here, so I have them from the very start of the month...then do them on every 1st thereafter.

Kayla: Congrats on the little whoosh...that's a great way to start out a new month!

Nichelle: This year really does seem to be going by so fast! What is TOPS?

-----------------------------------------

So, I went up a little again today back to 175.8. Not what I was expecting or how I wanted to start out a fresh month, but it is what it is. And, I'm thankful that it wasn't much of a gain. Continuing to stay on plan with the stricter diet, exercise, and more than a gallon of water...hoping that means I will be due for a consistency-rewarding whoosh soon, lol. TOM should be starting by the end of the week, so we will see what happens with that. It can go either way for me lately...sometimes it is surprisingly nice with the scale, sometimes it is very mean.

curvynotlumpy thank you so much once again for starting this monthly thread.

Lacerta welcome to this thread. You are achieving great results so far this year, in spite of dealing with health issues. Continued success this month!

opheliaphoenix and RunningRedHead congratulations on both losing 8 pounds in May! Wishing you equal success in June

gulfmagnolia I'm cheering you on to reach your goal in time for your birthday!

jazzfan22 I think that reaching that workout goal is just as significant as any weight loss goal, congratulations!

Nichelle nice to see you Nice job on the 5 pounds lost last month. I too am curious, what is TOPS?

My goal this month is to get through the 4-week program I am using from Fitness Blender and get in as much walking as possible, trying to burn more calories whenever I can. All that while working a few 12-hour days next week doing interviews for the new store.

Despite the very high heat and humidity again today, I completed day 5 of my program, which was an upper body weight lifting workout, and I am a sweaty mess right now. Looking forward to going to the bedroom after supper, where David set up the portable air conditioner. We were able to escape the heat a bit today when we went to the movies to see Deadpool 2. Loved it, was grossed out by some scenes, laughed a lot and loved the soundtrack.

On a less happy note, David is on sick leave for 3 weeks, he seems to have re-injured his right shoulder again, he can barely lift up his arm to the side. He starts physio next week. And tomorrow is my last day at my current store. Employees surprised me yesterday with flowers, a gift card and a lovely Pandora bracelet. I was a crying mess, as I will be tomorrow as well, I'm sure.

I'm wishing everyone much deserved success this month!

and good afternoon!

It sounds but this has been a long week even with one day off! Today has been a long day with lots of meetings. I met with my staff to choose tile and paint options for the furniture that will be part of the remodel. We'll meet with the designers regarding final choices on Tuesday. So many choices but I think we've picked a reasonable range that we'll be able to discuss coherently .

Nichelle: Good to see you back posting! And with the almost 5 pound weight loss . Maybe it's a positive sign that you're still able to lose without being 100% on plan. One-hundred percent 24/7 is tough!

opheliaphoenix: A gallon of water...! Very impressive. I'm curious how you the other wonderfully hydrated posters get your water in each day? Specific amounts at a specific time? More when you exercise than when you're not?

RunningRedHead: Your zucchini noodle lasagna sounds I really like apps that can project weight out with different variables. Yet, this kind of information always leaves me a little anxious.

Lacerta: Way to go getting in those miles. I love to walk; recently the university campus I work on created a walkers map with various paths and distances that you folks can access and walk in effort to help keep folks moving and healthy.

gulfmagnolia: with the 1 pound drop! What a way to usher in June!

jazzfan22: You had a really great May! I have no doubt you will be seeing 169 very, very soon!

June 1 SW: 213.5 lbs.

Here's to a wonderful June!
