Greetings!

Welcome to the February 2018 thread! Rennie, aka Love2b150 is the originator of this thread and still pops in from time to time when her schedule allows. In honor of her fun and motivating title threads I thought I'd revive her February 2017 title for us this year. So whether you are a long time poster, brand new or a lurker wanting to join the conversation, I want to welcome you to Loving the YOU that you're becoming-February 2018 Check-in and Accountability Thread. Here you can post your daily weight, share workouts and way of eating (WOE) plans, struggles and successes, life adventures and anything else. This is a warm and supportive thread so please settle in and make yourself at home.

February can be a notoriously difficult month with Valentine's Day and only 28 days to meet certain goals. At the same time, we start to get our first glimpses of the spring thaw, more sunshine and opportunities to get outside. This month let's vow to be our own Valentine every day by making good and healthy choices in all facets of our life. We're not perfect but that's not what this journey is about.

So, here are all my weigh-ins ever here at 3fc. I started off in the 40+ forum, and dragged it over to the 50+ forum to start the year. I seem to be the only one there at the moment
Anyway, I intend to continue as I started, trying to lose about a kilo a week which is about 10 pounds a month, though this may become harder and/or less healthy as I lose. we'll see.

Ultimate non-scale goal? Rock climbing with my daughter.

Morning all.

Current weight: 271.8 lb (tom)
Goal: lose 10lbs. Drink 3lt (or more) water

I just have no energy right now... slowing getting ready for the gym... I think I might come home and nap before work. (It's 330 am now so be at the gym by 4... should be home by 530... I have my lunch packed already and i dont start work until 8am... should be able to get an hour/hour and a half nap in lol)

Good first day of February everyone! There won't be any exercise for me today as I worked the evening shift last night and just could not get up at 4:30am to exercise. I needed sleep more than exercise. And I have a long day at work in front of me, training two loss prevention district managers this morning and then my colleague on schedules, so no idea when my own work will be done. Work will be back to normal next week. Have a fantastic kick-off to this new month everyone!

Hello everyone,

I hope February is a great month for you! I see OpheliaPhoenix made it to Onderland, so great!

I haven't been cheating, promise, but the scale is creeping up on me this week. I ate a can of Chunky soup though and salad dressing which is salty last night and for lunch, which is the likely problem. I still exceeded my January loss goal though so that is good.

Goal: 7 pounds

Feb 1: 170.4
Feb 4: 171.2 (company here and eating more than normal)
Feb 5: 171.0 (no exercise and fitbit said I just burned 1581 calories!)
Feb 11: 170.8
Feb 19: 174.2 (have been overeating badly this month, half a pack of cookies last night! . Going to try to focus again and get down to 170.4 by the end of the month.)
Feb 20: 171.8
Feb 21: 172.2
Feb 22: 171

Happy February all!!

MagicSusan I wandered over to the 50+ forum and it was really inactive, so I didn't bother. We can hang out together here!!

Traveller sodium may be the thing. I was just going to post that I was looking at my sodium intake for January on My Fitness Pal and I'm actually shocked that I lost any weight last month!! It's only been this week where I've been really strict in monitoring it and comparing it to past weeks is a huge drop! Most of my real weight loss has been over the last two weeks. Now, if only I can conquer those last 3lbs by Sunday, I'll be happy, but I am expecting to lose my Diet Bet.

Speaking of Diet Bet, to OpheliaPhoenix for accomplishing her bet goal! Now you just have to keep it off until Sunday!

As for me, my primary post was going to be about my sodium discovery. Not much else new. Holding fast to the loss and the scale continues to go down. Even with my 'hangry' day yesterday where I did peek a little above my sodium max, it did not result in a gain.

One more weekday and then on to the challenges of the weekend! Onward and downward!

Happy February everyone! I'm ready to get back on track after several days of bad choices and gains. My goal is always 10 pds loss per month. Maybe this will be the month to hit is. I really want to find my stray fitness video I bought a while back and begin it. I bought Cize from Beach Bodies. I really use to love to dance and it was great exercise. So, this seems right up my ally. I have visions in my mind of being a kick butt dancer by the time I'm done. My NS goal this month is to get over the bronchitis once and for all, and start cardio. There was some talk on the other thread regarding fitbits. Has anyone seen the Fossil and Michal Kors smart watches? I like them.

LauraRVA42011 sodium does make a big difference.

I had a cup of the soup for lunch with a V-8 and finished it with a salad and roll for dinner. I checked the can and it was 87% of my sodium intake for the day! I drink low sodium V-8 but I am sure that and my light balsamic vinaigrette had some salt too. Congrats on a great couple of weeks too! I often gain one week a month then lose a little over 2 pounds a week the other weeks sometimes but I've lost 125# now even with the gaining week. I don't understand it because I still exercise and don't cheat on my diet!
