Maintaining a 250 pound weight loss
Hi Folks,
I do not get around here as much as I used to. This is an awesome space. Today I had multiple opportunities to feel blessed by my 15 year journey of losing and maintaining (about 4 years now) a 250 pound loss. People do not find maintaining as "sexy" as losing, but all the skills I developed over many years of losing are the skills and habits that allow me to maintain the weight loss now. There are no rest days!!!
I recently began taking a prescription medication that made me feel tired and lethargic. I did not really care about doing exercise or the usual preparation I do to have healthy foods always at hand. Two weeks is about all the time I can take to drift before I start to skid. I am not rigid about my routines but know in my heart of hearts that they are essential to continuing the healthy habits that got me here.
My experience is that no matter how much you lose or how long you maintain it, it is those daily habits that make it all happen. I wish you all a heartfelt thanks for being a part of my continuing journey.
