Default What are common sizes?

I always thought common sizes were like size L shirts and 14-16 pants. So there were always so many smaller sizes left on the shelf’s.

I am really struggling with finding size small shirts and size 8 pants. Everywhere I go they are sold out in my size. I’m going to stores like Kohl’s.

When I was 236 pounds, all I found were size small clothes. Now when I’m 78 pounds less, all I find are the big clothes.

I am trying to find a size small shirt and I’ve looked at 3 Different Kohl’s and the smallest size they have is a medium. I tried it on and I was swimming in it.

Why is it still so hard to find clothes that fit?

I am still in the boat you were before, as I wear an XL (sometimes still a 2X, depending on the brand)....and, when things start selling out, I find that the Mediums and Larges are the first to go in most places, quickly followed by the XLs. So, what I find left are the super small sizes - generally mostly XS with a decent selection of Smalls left - or larger sizes at 2X/3X+. I feel like it is a common phenomenon that people come across...when you need something, it isn't there or is hard to find. Then, when you get to the point where you'd fit in the sizes you COULD find, it flips the coin on you and now suddenly "the grass is greener" (accessibilty-wise, at least) on the other side.

I wonder why that is??
